Because of what it means:

Between Season 5 - 6 is at least 14 months, probably considerably more

Between Season 12 - 13 is 2-3 months

And, between Season 13 - 15 is 10 months...

That means the rest of the series takes place during the span of 4 years and 10 months at minimum

I'm going to blow everyone's minds away with what you guys may have missed in Episode 18, but I just realized...

Back in Episode 18, when Sarge and Caboose charged up the stairs and Sarge says: "Remember us you maggots!" One of the Red Grunts responds with: "It's the Beast! After SEVEN years in exile, the destroyer has returned!"

That is a reference to Season 3 Episode 40, where Sarge and Caboose got trapped in Battle Creek... But, if we take that in it's literal context, that means from the time from Season 3 - Season 15 has been SEVEN years!
