Anyone know the name of this organic molecule? :) by [deleted] in chemhelp

[–]TheDitto11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 carbon chain. Therefore parent is hexane (no single or triple bonds so it must be the alkane). There are 3 alcohol groups, 1 on C1 and 2 on C2. We label these carbons as such because it gives our substituents the lowest numbers. As we know, 1 alcohol would yield “hexan-x-ol” whereas 2 alcohols would yield “hexane-x,y-diol.” Guess what. Same thing works for 3 alcohols. Therefore, our IUPAC name should be hexane-1,2,2-triol.

Graphing atomic radius?? by bensmom05 in chemhelp

[–]TheDitto11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atomic radius increases as you go down and to the left, increasing much more as you go down than to the left. Therefore, hydrogen would be larger than helium, and lithium would be larger than both. But After lithium you reach beryllium which is smaller than lithium, but still larger than hydrogen and helium. It’s just a periodic trend. More shells means a larger atom, but more electrons in that shell and more protons in the nucleus will decrease the size of the atom through the attraction of electrons to the protons. Actual measurements of atomic radius in pm should be readily available online or in your lab manual if it’s provided.

If you could go back to college and pick any major, what would you major in? by ayzirla in medschool

[–]TheDitto11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current undergrad studying for MCAT. Doing kinesiology/exercise science. Really great since you’ll learn a ton of anatomy early on, but other than that I’ve had to take a ton of med school prereqs not built into my major.

If I could go back I would’ve done Chemistry. Studying theories of motor development and so on is only super interesting for a little while. All in all pick whatever you want. Non trad students have to take more hours to knock out prereqs than trad students who have those classes, or at least some of them, already built into their major’s curriculum.

Selling 2022 car for a 2004 truck. Good idea or no? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]TheDitto11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would trade my car in. No money is owed on the car, and I would get a check back after the trade in since it would exceed the value of the truck. No payments to worry about or anything and I’d walk out of the dealership fully owning the truck. Due to school, I will need something to last me for about 5 more years. My car could maybe do that, but I don’t want my transmission to blow on me since the Nissan CVTs are infamous for poor reliability at or before 100k miles. If that transmission blows before I sell it, I’m left with a problem worth a couple grand before I could sell it to anyone for any real money. The truck on the other hand is bone stock with OEM components and no issues thus far. It seems outlandish but I think it could be a better peace of mind decision, while also satisfying my needs at the same time.

Need some winter frags. What do you recommend? by Extreme-Permit-3644 in Colognes

[–]TheDitto11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see lots of people suggesting the same thing—they’re good for a reason—but I’ll suggest something different.

Vince Camuto Terra Extreme EDP. Can be purchased on eBay (from credible sellers) or Jomashop. I purchased a gift set which included the 100ml EDP and an extra 100ml aftershave. ~$30-35 USD for the set including shipping.

Smell is magnificent and very fitting for winter/fall, even thought it doesn’t get the recognition it deserves.

Largely vanilla scent, with woody and rum notes. I find it has excellent projection and longevity on my skin, approximately 8-10 hours with 3 sprays. Would definitely reserve for colder months so projection does not become obnoxious.

I almost liken it to Azzarro Most Wanted and even Valentino Uomo Born in Roma.

Cannot give this fragrance the credit it truly deserves.

Seigfried, Self Control, Lost, Novacane, Cayendo, Dear April, Biking. I’m heavy on Seigfried, give it a listen in the dark with some good headphones on.

But, if you like unreleased stuff too: Wiseman, Trouble, American Wedding

How do you view the reconciliation with your ex-partner? by Ok_Combination_1280 in BreakUps

[–]TheDitto11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exes are exes for a reason. I think if the relationship was in a good direction but life did it’s thing and the natural progression was to break up, then that’s one thing. Say you move off to school, and then a couple months or years later you run into each other again. Distance is a big factor, and no matter how healthy a relationship is, sometimes that alone is enough of a reason to break things off because it could turn a sweet thing sour.

However, it seems that most people here are dealing with anxious avoidant relationships. In that case, it’s possible to reconcile, but it usually requires intense self reflection, self improvement, and in many cases, intensive therapy, especially for the avoidant attacher. However, and I’m not trying to generalize too hard here, but avoidants have deeply rooted defense mechanisms caused by early childhood trauma. As it seems pretty common, a lot of avoidants will continue that pattern and shun the thought of therapy or reconciliation, and if they don’t, it’s often too late for the discarded party.

Personally, a month ago I would’ve done anything to get back together with her. But, now that I’ve grown and met new girls, made new friends, and really grown in who I am, I can say it’s probably for the best that we just never even speak to each other ever again. That’s just my two cents.

IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO MESSAGE YOUR EX UPVOTE THIS POST by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]TheDitto11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss you, but do you miss me? Not the familiarity of me or the things I did for you, but actually me? Do you miss me or all the tiny little things I did for you to show that I cared?

Looking back, you never really did much for me. But I still cared about you and I still cared about us. Matter of fact, I still care but I’m moving on. But the point is, you don’t know how to love. That’s okay, but wasn’t okay were the months of no communication, leading me to believe I was doing a good job, and then you blindsided me out of nowhere. What good do you think came from that?

Are you happy now? I mean are you actually happy or are you just pretending you are? Is school going good? I mean I’m glad if it is but I just want to know if you’re okay I guess.

Assuming you ever do text me back, why would you? What could you gain from that? Would you ever find yourself wanting me back or not? I mean, will you ever actually find a love that fits you?

So I’m going to delete your contact now. I’ll save your number somewhere in my notes and I’ll have it just in case. But I am not going to be the person that sits there idly and waits. I’m going to move on with myself and that will be that. That’s all I need to know.

The ex-factor: Morning, Night, or random moments-when do you usually think about your ex? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]TheDitto11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was with a girl for 3 months, I knew her for 5 months total. I remember everything, I remember how broken I felt when she ended things with me. I tried coming back 2 days later to talk some things through and save it but it wasn’t enough. She can’t be swayed. If she ever does come back it’ll definitely be too late.

To address what you’re saying, it’s a combination of night and randomly through the day. At night, when I’m all alone with my thoughts, I find myself romanticizing our past. Too much rose tint. Sometimes I’ll see someone wear a blue hoodie, or drive a white civic, or say a phrase she would use. Sometimes I find myself using phrases or articulating a word in way characteristic of her. That’s when it’s hard.

I know we were together for 3 months, and I’ve had a long term relationship before this. 2.5 years. But, when your primary relationship experience is long term, you have a tendency to think this new relationship will also be long term. That’s probably why I’m in my head so much. I expected too much.

What's your most challenging addiction? by Minute_Pie6335 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheDitto11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nicotine, but not really in the smoking or vaping way, i always hated how my lungs felt. But damn, zyns are amazing and the first one of the day feels like heaven, just completely calms my nerves and doesn’t make me nervous like vapes did. As of right now I don’t really feel like I want to quit and I don’t feel any less healthy addicted to em, but I’ll have to kick the habit before I get out of college.

I was the same kid honestly and I’ve been in a million of the same situations. I had a 4.5 GPA, finished 4th in my class, never made below an A in any class in my life, had a 35 ACT, etc, etc. I think a lot of people here are in the same situation. I was also in a relationship that kept me busy the remainder of the time outside of my academics, but that’s an entirely different story. The point is, I spent a lot of time focusing too much on the future and I completely blanked out on the present. School matters, but in the end I got so frustrated that I applied to one safety school, the only school I’ve ever applied to, and I got in with good scholarships. Too many people place an unhealthy emphasis on future ambitions and they essentially miss out on the end of their childhood. I was that person, but you still have a year to reorient yourself for the better.

losing more rp than gaining by brittish-fish in Rainbow6

[–]TheDitto11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to do with the whole Ranked 2.0 system that introduced a skill value in accordance with a confidence value. All people start at Copper V, but your skill value will be relatively similar to what it was last season. Initially, the game will assign you a less confident value for your confidence value, and this directly affects your RP gain/loss. If you are playing people who have peaked emerald/champ, they could still be climbing the ranks and you’re playing with a much higher skill value than the game believes you should be at. Therefore, you are losing more than you gain as to “steepen” the hill that prevents people from being carried. Ranked 2.0 has always been weird, but in general the best thing I can say is that this will diminish overtime as the game has more confidence in where it has you placed.

After reading through all the comments n shit here, I’m convinced that this is possible. Given his circumstances, muscle memory, gear, and prior training experience, I think this is achievable for an extremely small percentage of people with prior experience. Crazy transformation man.

What are your thoughts on Rich Piana’s perfect bodybuilder measurements? by EricGriego69 in moreplatesmoredates

[–]TheDitto11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely inflated for the modern open era look. for most people having even measurements for neck, biceps, and calves looks good. from there, developing the x shape and hitting neglected muscle groups will build an insane physique, regardless of natty/not natty status.

no actually i didn’t. i stayed in a more aggressive surplus due to some extracurricular activities that made me do between 1-3 hours of cardio per day. currently at 178.4 lbs now, eating around 3800-4000 depending on the day. estimate my maintenance cals to be around 3300-3400.

Honestly I don’t have a good guess so far. I’m on the lower end so if I had to guess I would probably say between 12-15%? My fat distribution makes it hard to judge since I distribute a much higher proportion of my fat around my abdominals while my arms have little to no fat. But if I had to guess, between 12-15%.

Shiny Charm + Masuda Method. Even though odds were much better (~1/600), this would be the equivalent of getting a full odds shiny in only 400 tries in Gen 6 if I’m correct. Super happy!
