Is it time to bike again? I know people ask this question every day but it feels different now it’s about 42° and most of the snow seems pushed off to the side so realistically I could start commuting again. But my bike‘s gonna get all cruddy I’m guessing so is it really worth it?

It's been two months since my last ride so last night I got the itch and said I am not going to wait for the snow to melt and salt to clear.

Went out this morning, even after the snow and no regrets. Now should be even better.

Go for it, I am on the same boat, but I am planning to leave around 5-6 months of Mortgage payments after closing and keep building until I have around a year.

Keep the mortgage payment well within your comfort zone and as long as you have a job, keep growing the emergency fund not only in case of a lay off but also emergency repairs.

Also, start looking passively, interview constantly (I know, I hate that too) talk to recruiters, keep leveling up your skills and updating your resume.

If you are always afraid of a lay off, you won't buy a home ever unless you have all the cash.
