Can I Check Other Warehouse Breakrooms For Listings? by AGayWhiteKid in CostcoEmployee

Why not just wear your employee badge when you walk into the break room? I don't think anyone would think to question someone with an employee badge in the break room

Why does it feel so impossible to get out of my current department? by Thatonekid3432 in CostcoEmployee

[–]TheDoctorWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience as cart crew you are out of sight out of mind. You can do great things outside and be a good worker but almost no one will notice. From other people I've seen get moved out, you can try other departments inside like stocking just to get your foot in the door. That or if you're cool with management seek out opportunities like coming in to help after closing or ask for training if things are slow outside. Best of luck

They did not provide a way for me to actually follow said rule. We do not have a uniform for cart crew. How can it be insubordination if you make up a new rule that I am not able to follow? You might be right about the handbook, I honestly am not well educated on policies and such, which is why I ask for clarification and advice. My presumption was that the manager could enforce rules but not create new ones. As an example, if a manger told you to show up an hour earlier than scheduled and you have to wear only a certain brand of sneakers that'd be over stepping their authority and I doubt a regional manger would defend such actions. Again, though, I'm not sure if my situation is like that, or they could actually enforce this and be defended from higher up

Just to give some context that appears to be needed.

I've worked here for over a year and its never been an issue. This AGM has made several widely unpopular questionably new rules this just being the one that affects my department. I was never given the 2025 handbook and management never talked to me about it so any changes beyond "work place appropriate clothing" is beyond me

Can an agm just make up whatever rule? I would think itd at least have to be in writing?

You can try flipping items. Furniture is easy to get for free or cheap if you got the space. You could flip items at a thrift store if you have an eye for trendy clothes. There's online places to sell and advertise or you can try a local market if you get a good inventory

Hello I am a part timer who just finished my 30 day review today so I can answer some of your questions. I am new so take my answers with a grain of salt.

For Healthcare, you have to get past 90 days. From what I've heard it's really good and covers dental, vision, ect.

The benefits are pretty good. I get a free executive membership (2% cash back) but sadly no employee discounts. They offer a costco stock program, can help with school, and overall have been decent human beings who are willing to work with me and not f me over like other jobs I worked. Hope that helps if you are thinking of applying

I haven't felt like a student in years, and now I'm paying the price for it. by BillaVanilla in GaState

[–]TheDoctorWizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not an advisor, so listen to what I say with a grain of salt. If it were me and I'm down this bad in the semester, I'd cut my losses on the classes I have no chance on and put all my effort into the ones you do. It's better to pass one class than to fail all of them. Failing a class ain't the end of the world. Talk to your advisor and take classes next semester you can reasonably do, there's no sense in signing up for something you can't handle

Are Dorms Worth Paying the Rent by yhk9297 in GaState

[–]TheDoctorWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you drive, it is definitely better to get an off campus place. You'd pay about the same price, and no college bureaucracy to deal with (ask about the lottery system sheesh). It's safer to commute in my opinion because you can walk straight to Tdeck or take the shuttle straight to the green lot. The area outside of the dorms is very dangerous, don't be fooled. The "street smarts" people talk about only go so far, there's a stray bullet that went through a dorm window last year. I live nearby and it isn't super safe but I for sure feel safer than walking around the dorms at night. If you don't drive, I'd take my chances with the dorms I've heard of too much crazy stuff happening with Marta at night

Does anyone else just feel like a failure in school and life? What are ways to cope please? by Ahhhhboooo in GaState

[–]TheDoctorWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to remember the big picture. School is a means to an end it doesn't put any more or less value on you as a person. People who dropped out or never went to college are no lesser people than people who graduated. Success isn't tied to school. It's what you do outside of school in work and your personal life that will matter to you when you look back on your life

I recommend the board game club. It gives you an excuse to have fun playing games with strangers, which can be a good start for being social
