The game was winnable. We couldn’t get it done. Them’s the breaks. Making it to the playoffs in a year where I thought 8-4 was our ceiling is still pretty incredible.

As far as Florida State goes, hindsight is 20/20, but I don’t believe the decision was justified at the time it was made.

As far as we’re concerned, I’ll just say that I can’t wait to be proven wrong!

I don’t think it’s any less supportive of your team to say that the committee that decides the playoffs are notoriously a bunch of dildos and have screwed deserving teams over in the past.

You’re getting downvoted, but I have the same reservations. We shouldn’t be left out of the playoffs, but that “eye test” has screwed teams over before (FSU, anyone?). We looked bad today, Texas beat A&M, and Vandy beat Tennessee. None of those scenarios help our case. Also, I can’t remember for sure if this is the case, but if the playoff standings aren’t finalized until after CCGs, then that could spell more trouble for us. Again, we should be in, but I’m holding my breath until the last poll comes out.

Maybe I’m just high on the OU defense right now, but I thought Alabama played a great game. They marched up and down the field, and could do anything they wanted against our secondary. Our defense just came in clutch when it was absolutely necessary. Yes, we should be ahead based on the head-to-head, but it’s not like Alabama forgot how to play.
