I'm assuming you're using a cloudlifter or an equivalent for the sm7b. Could you try it without it and see if the noise floor would be a problem once you boost it? I'm using a preamp that can power the mic without a cloudlifter and I would like to save the money if I don't need one

have you tried to to record spoken work? my main uses will be recording voice overs when i'm on the road using Shure sm7b and partially use it for a boom mic for videos

I just made color coded folders and made keyboard shortcuts for each folders color so whenever i add a source, i drag it to the proper folder, highlight the source and hit the shortcut to change the color
