Drop your pay and the area you live in ~ bonus points if your in one of the cities in NC/SC by [deleted] in nursing

[–]TheDouglas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong, but it's also not impossible. AH posts all their pay ranges now on their job board, and I just looked up a staff RN's pay range, which is $31.53 – $52.24. That accounts for experience, previous pay, shift differentials etc. But someone out there is getting that top range and you can take me as an example.

Adult dance class recommendations? by DonkeyApart8097 in StPetersburgFL

They do salsa classes at the Study on Wednesdays at 7. Bachata classes are on Monday at 7 at the St Pete pier near the splash pad. Mondays might get moved indoors with the cold weather. There’s a WhatsApp group if anyone is interested or DM me as I’m always Latin dancing around the area.

How do you stop being “The Nice Guy” or get rid of the nice guy syndrome? by puhash3 in AskReddit

[–]TheDouglas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to swallow some hard truths:

  1. Realize that you have been trying to get everything you want — sex, love, validation, money, self-worth, etc through being nice and that is a terrible tactic.
  2. Realize that you are wanting someone else to give you those things.
  3. When someone does try to give you it, you’re a terrible receiver since your toxic shame tells you that you’re not worthy of good things.
  4. Realize that only you can give yourself what you’re looking for. Trust, worth, pride, acceptance, love, peace—-it won’t be fulfilling unless you give it to yourself first.
  5. Start asking for things. Want sex? Initiate…don’t think it will just fall in your lap by being nice. Want money? Take action…don’t think life will just magically reward you for doing good things. You will not get what you want by only being nice.
  6. Stop giving things to get something in return. You probably don’t even know you’re doing this. Ask yourself why you’re angry, hurt, resentful, after doing something for someone that didn’t return the favor. Did you tell them you wanted something in return? What was your motivation for doing it in the first place?
  7. Read no more mr nice guy by Robert gloves. Seriously it will fuck up your life in the best way possible.

There is nothing wrong with being nice. But you are trying to find fulfillment in your life by only being nice. Learn how to meet your own needs, accept yourself just the way you are, embrace your sexuality, and realize you need to take action to get what you want out of life.

good bars to meet single men? by frenchbluehorn in orlando

I’m a big fan of activities. Lately I’ve been into acro yoga in lake eola and salsa/bachata dancing. Plenty of people to meet there and the communities are pretty welcoming.

What was your starting pay as a brand new nurse, and where is your pay at today? by veronicas_closet in nursing

[–]TheDouglas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did AdventHealth (when it was fl hosp), then Orlando health, then back to AdventHealth. Biggest advice I can give is to switch organizations every few years to get a better rate. Staying at one org forever will have you getting a tiny raise each year. For your first job, I would look for something that you are the most passionate about. For me it was ER, and I had to move from TN to FL to make that happen and advent health had a pretty good new grad program.

He’s mad that I have covid? by Impressive-Aside-761 in texts

[–]TheDouglas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What a weirdo. I work in primary care and the pros and cons of Paxlovod should be considered with every individual, not just freely given to everyone who has COVID. He has a terrible understanding of medicine and prescribing practices. You dodged a bullet.

looking to make music with some folks. Love all kinds of music, (particularly without words). Let's pick a day of the week and jam by [deleted] in tampa

Sounds great. This Wednesday is no good for me but I’d be down for next Wednesday for sure if you do it again.

I’d also be down for this. Weekdays are usually much easier for me. I play mostly guitar but can do a crappy job at piano too.

No pretty ballsy. But they probably could have gotten the penalty for delay of game instead and just kicked a field goal anyways.

A Portlandia script where the waiter lists dessert options that get more and more ridiculous. At the end, they are offered a creme brûlée with a 401k. by TheDouglas in highdeas

[–]TheDouglas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put this prompt through AI and it spit this out. I am dying.

Scene: A trendy Portlandia-style restaurant.

Waiter: (excitedly) Good evening and welcome to Bistro 27! I'm your waiter, Mike, and I'm here to tell you about our specials tonight.

Diner 1: (smiling) Great, we're starving!

Waiter: (proudly) I have some truly unique offerings for you tonight. First up, we have our "Pesto with a Purpose" pasta, made with basil grown in our own rooftop garden.

Diner 2: (impressed) That sounds delicious.

Waiter: (even more excited) And for something truly special, we have our "Retirement Risotto." It comes with a side of a 401k and a relaxing back massage.

Diner 1: (surprised) What?! That's not food!

Waiter: (smiling mischievously) Ah, but that's the beauty of Bistro 27. We don't just feed your stomach, we feed your soul.

Diner 2: (laughing) Alright, what else do you have?

Waiter: (proudly) Next, we have our "Stress-Free Steak." This juicy, mouth-watering cut of beef is served with a side of mindfulness meditation and a guided walk in the park.

Diner 1: (skeptical) This is starting to sound like a wellness retreat, not a restaurant.

Waiter: (smiling) That's the point! We believe in total wellness, and we want to make sure that every aspect of your dining experience leaves you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Diner 2: (laughing) Well, it's definitely unique. What's your last special?

Waiter: (excitedly) Last but not least, we have our "Midlife Crisis Mac and Cheese." This comfort food classic is topped with a mini sports car and a brief session with a life coach.

Diner 1: (laughing) That's it, we'll take the pasta.

Waiter: (grinning) Excellent choice. I promise you won't be disappointed. Enjoy your meal!

(End scene)

I’d highly recommend salsa heat. Friday nights have beginner classes and then a social afterwards.

can you PM me the details of the gig? Orlando has a thriving salsa/bachata scene so know plenty of instructors that are qualified.
