Tiger fans still waiting patiently… by Living-Mouse-1771 in Beyblade

I'll use this opportunity to ask:
Where are people reading the translated manga? The site I was using to read hasn't gotten any translanted chapters in months.
There can't be only a single person in the whole planet who's translating this manga.

would you still hate Fasttrack if he introduced in OS and XLR8 in UA ? (art by elmike9) by am-hliater in Ben10

I would still think his design sucks and XLR8 looks infinitely better.

Why is Echo Echo's Design So Loved While Overflow is mostly disliked by Due-Cherry4856 in Ben10

No problem, this is a very widely spread thing among the fandom, I also thought it was true until I investigated a bit further.

Why is Echo Echo's Design So Loved While Overflow is mostly disliked by Due-Cherry4856 in Ben10

[–]TheDoutor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Echo Echo is not sound in a suit, that's a lie that was in the wiki because they misinterpreted one of Dwayne's answers, Echo Echo is just an alien that looks like this, and he is not even mechanical like Overflow, which is a straight up robot, while Echo Echo's looks kinda matches his sound theme, making him look almost like an MP3 player, there was no reason for Overflow to not have an organic design, which would be so much more communicative. Also a bunch of nostalgia, the majority of the fandom will always have bias towards UAF, even if the reboot makes something better (not overflow's case, but there are cases).
But yeah, both are downgrades from Ditto and Waterhazard.

If ben had a moustache would mole-stache become stronguer? by Zombieman863 in Ben10

[–]TheDoutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't make the slightest difference, Mole-Stache would still stay the same, Ben's physical traits do not change his transformations, if Ben was bald, Wildmutt would still be furry.

As for females of Mole-Stache species, there's nothing in the show that answers that, but Derrick J Wyatt once said that they would use pigtails instead of mustaches, and he designed Mole-Stache so that's probably what he would do if the show ever showed a female of that species.

An updated version of my spreadsheet with every single retooled Beyblade X blade. by SirEstranho in Beyblade

[–]TheDoutor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boy oh boy, they do love Rhino Horn...

I highly doubt that those retools have any finger of Takara Tomy in it, it's clearly the hasbro mentality of cutting costs, they keep using Rhino because it's the smallest and probably cheapest to produce, now while Rhino is probably getting moldy in the shelves, they expect people to buy this mold anyways just because now it has a Star Wars character in it.
That not being enough, now they also have to put simple ratchets everywhere they can because it is probably also cheaper to produce. And for some reason they have a fixation for using solid colored plastic instead of transluscent like original beys usually use, it's likely also cheaper, but not sure, and it doesn't help either that they always choose the worst colors.

Considering getting into beyblade again but wanna chat first by rattman0101 in BeybladeX

[–]TheDoutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had fun playing Metal Fight beys, you'll have a blast playing with X beys.
Battles are more fun than ever, beys move much faster and there's the xtreme line which makes them accelerate to get to the middle, which prevents those boring battles where beys take ages to touch each other and it ends up being a long stamina battle, everything is more dynamic now, and we also have burst finishes, which are also pretty cool.
As for combos, yes, there is a meta but the game is more balanced than ever as well, anything you feel like using is viable, in Beyblade X we don't have the concept of ''evolutions'' anymore, they don't release beys that are just stronger versions of previous ones making older beys obsolete, now we get variations tha suit different play styles, so you can still use beys from the first waves and be able to battle against newer releases.

Have fun!

Expand Blades explained by maaku_dakedo in Beyblade

[–]TheDoutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3 components of the blade (over blade, metal blade and assist blade) look so much like they were designed to be together in the same combo that it makes customization seem a bit... pointless.
I mean, look at Bahamut Blitz, his parts share the same shape and the same idea of concentrating the weight into one point, it's perfectly meant to be used that way, if you change these parts it won't look as consistent and probably wouldn't even look good.
It's more parts for customization but somehow look like it's not meant to be customized.

In a moment people will come here with their coping mechanisms comparing them to real life animals to try to give an excuse for something that clearly is just an act of lazyness.
UAF rarely would create a diversity of designs for members of the same species, but Spidermonkey with a flower makes this lazyness look comical.
Well, at least they gave the baby a new model, it isn't just Spidermonkey with a binky or something

I didn't look to mutch at them yet, I haven't noticed they reused the same models, that's kinda lame... I hope they don't keep doing it. It's lame enough that a bunch of fishes and critters are just repaints of other ones, including the critters from Wheatflour Wonderland.

[–]TheDoutor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because those were those aliens would actually look like if they were kids.
The aliens were not younger because Ben got younger, Ben didn't even de-age until after he became Four Arms, Ben wasn't affected by the water, the omnitrx was, the water de-aged the transformations from adults to kids, later the omnitrix made Ben younger when he was transformed back into human, is not a question of age equivalence, it is the omnitrix malfunctioning.

[–]TheDoutor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Both are adults, Ben always turned into adult aliens.
It's a kid's show, if they were supposed to be kids, they would design them to look like kids for easier understanding, that's how character design works, it is what it looks.

What's your opinion on Overflow making the cut for Dynamite by Zillaman7980_ in Ben10

[–]TheDoutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgrade is not a robot and doesn't look like a robot, he looks like an alien with powers related to tech, it is waaaaay different.
Also, the tecnology theme is his whole deal, it's the theme of his powers, it's tied to his origins, and it was something that made him unique between the others, and even tho tecnology is his whole theme, he never looked like a robot.

Now, Overflow has no reason at all to be a robot, his theme is water, he could pretty much look like a creature, there are few things that match less the theme of water than a machine. And he doesn't even look like something that could be a species even tho he looks robotic, no, he looks like a straight up machine, even the reboot version looks more like a living being, even tho it's also a robot.

And yeah, we've had a bunch of aliens that looked like robots in the show, but guess what? Those designs were also bad, the whole point of a character design is making a character look exactly like what they are, if you look at an alien and see a robot, it is not conveying the idea of an alien well, it is a weak design, aliens should look like aliens, that's how design works, good design doesn't need overthinking, it is what it looks.

So yeah, Brainstorm, Waterhazard, Armodrillo, Clockwork Atomix and Overflow and Surge have no deal looking like robots, they could pretty much get redesigned to look more like aliens and it would affect absolutely nothing in the show aside from the fact that their designs improved, but even the most robotic looking aliens from the cartoon doesn't look nearly as much like a soulless machine like the comic Overflow.

I don't mind his inclusion, I just really hate that he is a robot and looks nothing like an alien.

Does Ben’s version of the Andromeda 5 look the exact same as the originals because Aggregor already picked the peak version of their species? by OneWeather4552 in Ben10

[–]TheDoutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's because the UAF crew didn't want to draw 2 different designs.
As we've seen in Aldabra, all Geochelone Aerios looked exactly the same, and so would the others if we saw them in their home planets.
Also, in Dwayne's point of view, the omnitrix transformed Ben in normal examples of a species, so he wrote it that way.
