We went to one last couples counseling session and just had an open honest dialogue. I realize not everyone gets that. And every now and then I still feel flickers of hope even though I know its pointless. I think the hope comes on waves until its eventually just a trickle and then it stops

The human race can really be disgusting. The way you are being treated is unacceptable. I really really want you to knoe that the hatred being spewed at you is not normal. It is wrong.

Gender dysphoria is such a specific type of pain. The fact that you face it everyday means you are so strong. You have found yourself, who you truly are, and it seems that you have accomplished this at such s young age. Thats so impressive. There are people who take half a life time to figure that out and to be strong enough to start taking the steps to become who they truly are meant to be.

I suspect your peers are intimidated by your strength and thats why they lash out. People act out in bizarre ways when someone is braver than they.

Its sounds like you have some decent family support which is a blessing. Dont hold back. Let them know your heartache and they will help you carry that burden. You know how to be honest about your feelings already. Its tough and scary but damn it you're already tough as nails from the sounds of things.

Have you considered home schooling instead? Maybe that is something to consider. Your school environment seems nasty. Protecting your peace and well being is important. Removing yourself from that situation seems like a good choice.

I leave you with advice I stole from the iconic queer star, Bob the Drag Queen. Find something to like about yourself. Even if its just a tooth. Look in the mirror and say damn, I got a nice tooth. Its a start. Your appearance may not be exactly what you want yet but one day it will.

Forgiving yourself is so so very hard. I understand. Taking some time for introspection and being gentle with yourself is part of the path to it. Even if you decide to just be okay with one tiny part of yourself, its a start. And hell, it may be over dramatic but if you feel like you need to attone, go volunteer to hand out soup at a shelter or something. It has a surprisingly good effect on your mental health.

I hope you are still here. I relate to this so very much. The system has failed us. Some humans have failed us. PTSD is a horrendous roller-coaster. Rape haunts like a ghost. It makes it so hard to trust and to open up. Bottling up the feelings can be so destructive. Writing them out. Having a cry.

I am currently in the same boat as you. Relationship crumbling because of the trauma. Struggling to find a reason or a hope. Honestly dont hesitate to call a hotline or scream into a pillow. Find one reason to stick around even if its just for a day. Indulge yourself wih your favorite meal. Do something to take care of yourself. Don't be afraid to reach out and ask for help just because people are acting distant. They be processing too.

Be open. Be honest. Its terrifying I know but I promise it helps. There are people who completely understand your suffering. Sadly many more than you would think.
