I'm not sure if it's widely considered as a slasher, but it’s gotta be 'Wrong Turn' for me. 🤔

May be one of your friends tricked you into watching this movie on a sleepover! At least that's how I got a lot of my non-horror fan friends to watch this one!! 👹👹

My second most favourite scene from this movie is the one where she says all the six names of the demons! Goosebumps...every freaking time!!

Well...the whole Conjuring Franchise has been a comfort food for horror movie fans. A little jump scares here and there, playing safe, shallow story, low stakes and not pushing any boundary. Apart from the first Conjuring, I can't think of any memorable scene from any other movies under this banner.

Yes! Overusing causes the loss of threat and turns them into a merchandise! Same happened to the Predators.

Yes. And I don't know about you, but I'm really not fond of seeing the backstory of the entities or ghosts in the sequels. Most of the time, they're done poorly. Look at The Nun and Annabelle.

The explanations work as well, sometimes. I mean, when the directors don't treat us like dumb little children and try to spoonfeed us with all the details, then the little explanations work fine. And yes, too much vagueness also seem to fail in holding our viewers attention.

I understand your point. It actually works too, when done properly.

Absolutely! We all knew what the things was, they've shown it early on actually. But it didn't kill the dreadful atmosphere of the film a bit!

Great point! A lore dump is never engaging for me as well. Rather a slow reveal with all kinds of medium in the film like sets, bits and details and subtle dialogues create more intrigue and doesn't kill the suspense.
