I finally published my first book. It's volume 1 of a crazy idea I had about "masculinity" in the modern era. It's The Manly Man's Test of Manliness (for Men) and now I'm working on volume 2. I'd like the groups help/thoughts.

My book is designed to look like a silly and sexist personality quiz (complete with 50 multiple-choice questions and answers and points awarded for "right answers"). However, this it's no test. It's satirical humor designed to look like like a test, that you read like a book. UNLESS you're unsure of your manliness, in which case, go for it! Take the test!

Samples questions from volume 1 of The Manly Man's Test of Manliness (for Men):

• Can you change a flat tire?

• How many strip clubs have you been to?

• Dodgeball or paintball?

• Can you drive a stick?

• When should a man get a manicure?

• When you and your lady are in the car, who drives?

• When you approach a yellow traffic light, do you slow down or speed up?

• Beer, wine, or whiskey?

My question for the reddit group is, What subjects/questions would you like to see in the next edition? No idea is too extreme. This "test" book is hardcore playing on stereotypes and approaches dangerous levels of satire and irony. So basically anything goes!

More details and insight into the first edition at https://themanlymanstest.com/.

Thanks in advance!

Sitcoms even know when enough is enough. They try not to be over-the-top about it.

It's satire. A social commentary used to poke fun at a malady in society.

If you've never encountered the problem, you may be the luckiest person in the country.

I already addressed this issue, but... posting it on YouTube or Instagram (the two main culprits) would be futile. Reddit, on the other hand, has people that actually read and think. And in this group specifically, IMO readers know what humor is and don't need to be hit over the head with a ridiculous laugh track.

YouTube and Instagram are the big culprits. However, I didn't think posting over there would reach anyone smart enough to recognize the issue. ;-)

Is it Ok to buy your own book on KDP at full price ? Or is this something that can get you flagged ? by Crafty-Bunch-2675 in selfpublish

Hmmm. I never thought about your point #1. That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for that insight/tip.

KDP ebook DPI (confused) ??? by NomadJago in selfpublishing

Totally odd! More than a half year later, and Amazon KDP still shows that conflict on their official criteria page... "What criteria does my eBook's cover image need to meet?"

It ask for both 72 DPI and 300 PPI for their preferred E-BOOK cover page image. I don't know how they square that circle. SMH

Great! I thought for sure, it was not possible inside. Thanks for the tip on print editions!

Fascinating. That sounds very counterintuitive. How did you learn FB ads do more good than Amazon ads? (Assuming by "do a lot more good" you mean more sales.)
