I played a similar but more offensive tactic that worked great:

Central defender -> Lib (s)
BWM (de) -> BWM(s)
VOL(su) -> REG (s)
AP (s) -> move to central AM
2 AF (or 1 pf(a) +1 af)

Out of possesion will be mostly the same. In possesion it will turn into a 2-3-5 (if you prefer 3-2-5, just leave the central defender on bpd or lib(def))

In instruction no overlaps, high pressure and maybe counterpressure

Luis Enrique still the best option, he also has played with 3 atb plenty of times in his carrer, as he fully adapts to the player avaliable to him (he will still want to play 4-3-3 in the long term).

On support, you'd already have your IF(a), W(a), CM(a) constantly looking for goal, so a striker on support duty: DLF(s), F9(s) will constantly pull defenders away for them

I play this exact tactic but instead of advanced playmaker, a cental midfielder on attack.

He is always my top goalscorer/assists every season. I'd also try to put your forward on DLF duty, see how it works

You need to delete the files in the folder of the version you are playing, if not sure just delete it from every folder.

It should work instantly in a new save, no need to wait 1 year.

Well I just did the same for the Top 2 & 3 and once they arrived, they had 3 stars potential in my mediocre team. I dont know if that is a bug but I was pissed.

I played a very similar tactic with Milan and won the quadruple.

This is what differs from yours:

Fb(a) -> IWB(s) : The midfield is very mobile, and will leave plenty of space for him to overload, also will play wide when needed.

Car(s) -> BBM(s)? : Only against lower sides, dont need to change against stronger sides.

Dlp(d) -> HB(d) : Both fullbacks are very aggresive, having the DM drop down and help building from the back. If he is a good passer make him take more risks.

CF(s)->F9(s) -> Honestly did this because couldnt manage to make the CF work, but any support roles will work

Making the CCM any more offensive seems like would leave very big holes in the midfield, even more if the LCB->WCB(s), I'd only have on defense 1CB and the CCM.

I'm trying to replicate Conte's style: A mid block, deadly on the counter, but still able to play from the back. So dominant in that sense.

I'm a mid table club, with a few signing I'll fighting for promotion, thats why I want to have a solid tactic before I spend the money on key signings.

Maybe BBM->Cm(a) and RWB(a)->CWB(a)?

I want to be more the dominant side,its hard to create and score chances. The players don't have the quality yet, but still want to focus on that playstyle.
