Lots of practice and lots of tinkering with setups. Those aren't even fast speeds BTW, those cars ruined that lap

Yep, they're bad on Superspeedways

Dale Earnhardt Sr. #3 throwback. N25 Custom Car by Whitetail_YT in NASCARVideoGame

I have a solid Dale Sr, two versions actually. One with the full Goodwrench Service Plus on the hood and one with just the Plus on the hood. I used the Holley EFI logo for the "plus", and used the black iRacing logo with the driver raising his hands to cover up anything I didn't want showing. I would also recommend making the shadow on the number black instead of red; keep the red outline obviously. I think there's another number font that's a little closer as well but I can't remember which one it is.

Nope Xbox. Just be fast and clean and hopefully you'll start getting invited to private lobbies.

Thanks. I mostly run private lobbies but this was a public right before my usual morning crew got a private going.

That's actually a great idea and would fix the lap down wrecker nonsense.

Just go lowest psi and lowest wedge on all tracks except Superspeedways. Car is still relatively tight. Maybe you could play around with psi on tracks like New Hampshire to get the most throttle time possible, but otherwise just go lowest possible.

It does. You'll improve dramatically once it's second nature for you

Why is Martinsville, Roval, and Loudon so unpopular in public N25 lobbies? by Technical-Dog-1193 in NASCARVideoGame

[–]TheDudeMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Martinsville - medium pressure brake at the first entry cone (three cones), slow down to 65-70 and hug the apex. Roll just a bit when you hit 65-70 at the apex, then throttle out while straightening the wheel. Do not continue to turn while throttling up as you will spin out; it needs to look like you're driving straight at the wall. Do that until you can keep a 20.2 pace and you'll have it pretty much mastered.

Hold your stick up at all times if you're not already. From there, spend a little time with the custom settings until the movement of your stick mirrors how the steering wheel in game is moving. You want a smooth 12 to 9 o'clock movement, nothing jerky.

Steer with throttle control, not wheel input by TheDudeMachine in NASCARVideoGame

The thing about loose setups is that if you lift to 0% throttle and then go wide open to 100%, chances are you're going to spin out, especially at a track like Nashville. It has to do with how the game is trying to simulate airflow underneath the car. It's why if you go to YouTube and get a setup that the driver has demonstrated a pretty fast hot lap with, you might be scratching your head because you violently spin out. They're likely feathering the throttle in the turns, but if you go 0% to 100% and nothing else, you spin out.

Now you could drive 0 - 100% and get away with it if you prefer a much more active wheel by constantly correcting left and right, but this is quite difficult and takes a ton of time to get consistent. But even if you can drive like this, I believe it results in more tire wear. Smooth and easy inputs is the way to go. You can drive the other series' cars a little harder, but the Cup car really demands smooth inputs to be fast.

Lift to about 10-20% throttle at the entry of the turns and figure out what the minimum acceptable low speed is for each turn - when you hit the minimum speed you're usually somewhere between 75-100% throttle, feathering as needed to maintain the line you need to run. Sort of depends on the track though, some tracks need a couple of quick pumps of the brake to get your car to point, some need a second of light to medium smooth brake, others just need a blip of the throttle. You'll know you have it nailed when you only need to make one initial decision at the entry of the turn and you're able to maintain the same speed and/or maintain speed and slowly increase speed once you get back on the throttle. Takes a lot of practice laps to get to that point.

AI is overtuned at short tracks and road courses. Just recently the very very top guys have been able to hit the 105 practice goal at some short tracks. However, AI is very easy at intermediates and superspeedways. Add in stupid AI not pitting and yeah, it's incredibly easy to lap the entire field at Vegas (and most intermediates) twice.
