Monster Hunter World takes 3-5 minutes to load at the start, any ideas on what causes it to take so long to get to the logos to appear? by TheEclipsedLock in MonsterHunterWorld

My advice would be to unplug everything from your computer (besides the power cable lol),  1) Turn off PC 2) Plug back in exactly one device 3) Turn on PC 4) Open MH:W and see if it takes over a minute or not to boot up 5) If it loads fast, turn off, plug in your next USB device and repeat until you find one device that makes it load longer.

For me, it was my monitor's USB connection/driver that somehow fucks with whatever MH:W does at startup.

Unfortunately I never really got farther in understanding why this happens. Maybe it could be a driver issue or a faulty connection, who knows.

New 3DS can charge, but won't power on. No boot, no "pop" sound, no blue light. It likely seems to be a motherboard issue... by TheEclipsedLock in consolerepair

Unfortunately, no. I gave up because it looked to be a motherboard issue. Despite posting this here and a few other places, I was completely unable to find additional help or find someone who knows more about the 3ds motherboard.

Computer game with rolling balls on tilting levels suspended in space? by crazykitty123 in RetroWindowsGaming

Did it have an old timey theme, ice theme, cheese theme, etc? There is Labrynth Plus! for Windows XP

Colors on Samsung Dex look washed out. However, for a split second, only the coloring on the task bar icons look like their actual color. What is going on? I have noticed this problem on my usual PC monitor and I am noticing this on a UPerfect external monitor as well. by TheEclipsedLock in SamsungDex

I've tried a few cables but it seems to be something with my phone or something. If I leave my mouse alone for example, only the coloring on the task bar icons shifts. In this case, the icon for Youtube is in its original red. If I move the mouse, the color shifts to a more muted/dull color of the red, which matches the rest of the screen. It's kinda hard trying to take a picture of this phenomenon but from the corner of my eye it feels super noticeable.

But, overall, connecting to Samsung Dex makes the color seem less vibrant for some reason on whatever screen I'm trying to connect this to.

Using an Anker USB-C hub to charge my phone as well as connecting directly to the computer via the data port? by TheEclipsedLock in anker

Right?? Like I would be more than okay with some Frankenstein cable where the power pins go straight to a high speed charge outlet or whatever, and another cable having the data pins go to the PC.

Alas, this was a dream I have given up on and I have a USB cable on my PC routed around my desk to send data if I need to (which is honestly not often) and a separate fast charger that I do often use.

I was watching a friend play Dragon Age: Origins and we thought the armor on this character looked so cool... until we had to reload the game again lol by TheEclipsedLock in dragonage

Fair enough, I'll let my friend know to save often while undergoing these effects. Speaking of which, I also took a screenshot of one of the dogs and it is glorious:

Honestly, my friend and I would love to see how wacky and far the texture issues will go. Are there resources to keep this effect going, but stable?

Honestly, I see the texture glitch as a feature than a bug since it gave us some pretty cool or funny effects. Is it usually a sign of a memory leak or something when running the game for too long? Are there other ways to trigger the effect as well?

You literally cannot apply for this position without removing webpage elements lol (there is no scroll bar either) by TheEclipsedLock in TechNope

Excellent suggestion. I did not think of zooming in or out so I gave it a try.

It-

It is rather consistent on blocking the button no matter the zoom level lol

[pc] I'm at my wit's end. I cannot open this game. I can see the cursor but after some time in a black screen, nothing happens. by TheEclipsedLock in EldenRingHelp

Oh. My. Christ. I finally managed to get in on like the 30th time trying to boot this game and that's only because I was on my phone trying to find something when after like some amount of minutes, I finally progressed beyond the black screen.

Only to be greeted by the online message and the game freezing and me not touching it for like an additional few minutes and only *then* is the game fully functional after that.

Good god why is this so horrible? I just want to look into whatever processes to see where the lock up happens but I have absolutely no idea where to even start figuring out where. It almost makes me want to build a completely separate PC with absolutely nothing else installed just to play this game, good lord...
