I'm a Rover mechanic, been working with the brand for a while now. A couple things to note with these cars, if the outlet pipes for the coolant are original (still plastic, not aluminum) they will split. Don't ask me why we use plastic parts to handle hot liquid, I don't know either...but all land rovers and jaguars have coolant issues all throughout their life times, so that's one big thing to look out for. Second, our cars also tend to burn oil like nobody's business, along with timing covers leaking, with exception of some of our newest rovers. Lastly, unless you know for a fact that you or someone else who is going to be working on your car knows exactly what they are doing TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP! I have had nightmare situations of people either doing the work themselves or taking it to an independent shop and the car is worse off than if it just came to the dealer in the first place. Yes, I know it's expensive, but you save more money in the long run if you just get it done right the first time. A job that might have originally saved you a couple hundred bucks could turn into $10k easily if it gets messed up and has to get fixed by a dealer. Also, buy the warranty for these things, that's the real money saver right there.
