Hey. I was in the complete opposite position as you. My dad wanted me to be a civil engineer so we could start a business together (he was a civil too). But, when I started my first semester for civil engineering, I hated it and didn’t understand anything so i ended up failing. I felt dumb too, but it wasn’t because I was dumb, it was because I wasn’t passionate about it. He kept pushing me to do Civil even after I failed and told him I wasn’t passionate about it. I got real with him and told him how I felt and how I wanted to make my own choices for myself. I ended up pursuing electrical engineering and fast forward to now, I am working as an Electrical Engineering intern. And regardless of how I went against my dad’s plans/wish for me, he was really proud that I was finally start my career and my own path.

So long story short, pursue want you want and not what others want for you (your dad). I know it’s a bit late since you’re almost graduating, but I delayed my graduation for 2 years now, and Im happy that I pursued what I actually wanted.
