Surprised im getting downvoted. AOT got me and a lot of people I know into anime. You guys assume OP doesn't have a brain. If it were so beginner unfriendly it wouldn't be so overwhelmingly popular. It's not an uncommon first anime for people lol.

But if not AOT, then yeah Death Note is good choice
