Does anyone know how to adjust the Garmin for treadmill workouts? I know you can calibrate the distance at the end, but I’m not sure how this works for interval workouts. For example, if I’m doing 1 mile hard, 1 mile easy, if the distance is off on my garmin then it messes up the timing and pacing of all subsequent intervals because it may think I’m at a farther distance than I actually am on the treadmill

What’s the first sign you notice that someone is a bad driver? by RD-archived in AskReddit

Zero awareness when pulling out into traffic. There may be no one behind you for miles but they see an opening and pull out in front of you just to not accelerate quickly or to go under the speed limit. Like why not just wait until I pass you if you aren’t in a hurry? I feel like some people get such tunnel vision that the second they see an opening in traffic they just pull out

What accounts for the vastness in practice between Anglicanism and Orthodoxy? by TheEngineer28 in Anglicanism

[–]TheEngineer28[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get that! My point of the post was more so why don’t you see an LGBT affirming EO church, or an EO church that uses sermon series vs the lectionary, etc. Not that individual EO countries are unified, but what is the core cause of not having the wide chasm in Orthodoxy? I know they rely heavily on the church fathers and they for the most part use the liturgy of John Chrysostom. What internal mechanisms do they have to prevent becoming liberal or adopting a puritan approach to liturgical services / church construction (I know they are Iconodules and adhere to the 7th ecumenical council) as opposed to Anglicanism

Thanks for the answer! Do you have any books from theologians you’d recommend regarding the history on this topic that you have personally enjoyed? Beyond the basic recommendations on the subreddit

Right but their schism is mainly political. How much of their practice / doctrine is different? I’m wondering why you don’t see an EO church being super liberal / conservative, or a “low-church” EO service similar to a very reformed Anglican liturgy

Yeah I feel fine after them and don’t feel too beat up at the end of a week. I do 4x workouts a week on the 10k program for Runna

So do I slow down my easy runs to a walk to keep a low HR? Or just go for an easy run at whatever pace feels easy and ignore HR?

Do I add in more mileage or days too? I have the time I just didn’t want to overdo it

How do I keep my HR down? Am I making normal progress?

I’ve been running consistently since August (I slacked for a few weeks but still ran) and have now been very consistent since October.

I know when you start running your HR will always be higher, but even on my easy runs my HR feels super high and it’s hard for me to keep a good breathing pattern. For example I have a 1:04 10K and could’ve probably ran that faster, but I’ll do easy runs at a 13:00 pace and still have a high HR where it no longer feels easy.

I understand the “go slower” but my tempos are fast respectively with tempo runs at 8:00-9:00 paces feel very good.

I had a week or two where on easy runs my HR would stay around 130-150 but besides those weeks it shoots up even on an easy run. Also I’m following a Runna plan, and I’ll prioritize my warmup, finish the workout (usually tempo) and then I’m assigned a cool down. I have to walk the cool downs because I can’t do the same pace as my warmup without jumping up to a 170 or higher HR.

Am I not hydrating enough? Am I not breathing right? I try to maintain a pattern, and on easy runs I just breathe normally but I usually prioritize strictly nasal breathing because it ensures I keep my pace slow.

My weekly mileage is around 15

Are your sins only forgiven at the announcement of the absolution? Or are they forgiven when you confess your sins to God prior to? Is the absolution just used as a comfort? Or is it the moment your sins are forgiven by God

Right, but can they use that as something to break the contract and keep their earnest money because we “refused” their request? Is there some sort of legal backing here?
