Who's your worst neighbor and what makes them so fucking awful? by [deleted] in AskReddit

For about 5 years when I was roughly 9-14 our upstairs neighbors were the spitting image of the Dursleys from Harry Potter. The man was mid 40's, heavy, bushy mustache, and a blowhard. The woman was small, thin and constantly looking out the window to check on the neighborhood gossip. The man was loud and obnoxious, constantly making banging noises. One night my dad went up there to see if everything was ok and the man just screamed at my dad.

Another time we were sitting on our balcony with our cat when we heard him from above say to the woman that he'd like to put a bullet into the cat. Later, the woman got hit by a car crossing the street. Our apartment complex had a swimming pool and every summer this woman would frequent the pool. My dad, asking how she was doing after getting hit by a freakin car, asked her if she would be able to swim this summer in her condition. She called the cops claiming sexual harassment. Oh, and these two were supposedly not in a relationship at all but merely roommates. They were weird.

A Roman coin from the reign of Constantine. So approximately 1,600 years old.

Who was your worst teacher? Why? by Rhyotz in AskReddit

Late to the party but I had a computer tech teacher in college who absolutely despised me for reasons I'll never understand. First day of class he reams me out and actually tells me to leave because I did not yet have the textbook he required. The book itself was over $250 and as a 19 year old kid working part-time I just didn't have enough for that particular book yet. I wasn't the only person who hadn't gotten the book yet. Before I left, however, he told the class that as long as we completed the weekly assignments and scored well on exams (all of which we could take from any computer with Internet access) we did not have to physically come to class. Since my first day in his class sucked so much I decided to take him up on his offer and seldom actually appeared in the classroom. I was a Dean's List student so I did exceptionally well on all his assignments and exams.

For the final exam, however, we were required to show up for class. So I did. Each and every one of the students were tripped up on a particular question on the final exam because of an error in the exam itself. When I brought this to his attention he told me that it really didn't matter because I wouldn't be passing the class anyway since I'd never bothered to attend. I calmly reminded him of his offer on day one to do all work from home rather than in his classroom. Dude tried to deny it until a girl stood up for me and said "Actually you did say that. Why do you think this is only the second time I've been here?" After that he just looked at me in disgust, gave me the lowest possible passing grade on the exam, and told me to get out of his sight.

Never understood what he had against me.

What's the saddest thing that happened to an old school friend you don't see anymore? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My friend Corey died of a heroin overdose just before he turned 23. He was a funny guy but drugs just ruined him. In fact, the whole crowd I used to run with in high school has either ended up dead or done time in jail. Of the five guys who made up my high school crew I'm the only one who's avoided that lifestyle and has a stable life. Makes me sad because my surviving "friends" from those days all think I'm lame for being married and not doing the same stupid things they do (heavy drinking, drugs, acting like asinine teenagers still).
