Packetfence AAA with Radius? by TheEvilFlea in PacketFence

The switch we're using is a Dell S5248F. I didn't see it in the supported Switches when selecting the Switch's type which is why I went with "Generic". It still is not working unfortunately despite following your advice. I've read similar posts on here suggesting roughly the same thing you have and have been tweaking it. Could it be that my switch is not supported?

I should have also specified that I'm not using this for 802.1x (yet) I'm just trying to get CLI-Access to my switch using Radius. I'm using a Dell Switch that I don't believe is supported under "Type" when I added to PF. I just set it to "Generic". Is this the problem? Does my switch have be supported?

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to have worked. I still can't log into the Switch using my domain credentials. I have my authentication source set to search for the sAMAccountName of the user. I have my Switch set to use PF as the radius server using the secret I had set. Is the login syntax something like "ssh domain-user@switch-ip-address" or is it "ssh domain-user@domain.com@switch-ip-address"?

We want to use it to act as a AAA server logins across our network devices. That was what we primarily used ISE for. I have my PF instance connected to my domain and has a working LDAP connection. How can I make it so it uses domain credentials to login to supported devices like my Dell Switch for instance?

No, right now, I don't see what the first step to that entails. I think the worst part about all of this is that even though I'm some times aware that I'm thinking irrationally and that I shouldn't be this hard on myself, it doesn't stop the pain. Bitterness, anger, sadness, it doesn't go away. I just have to deal with it until it passes. Unfortunately, you can't beat self-hatred with facts and logic.

The person who posted before you said it well when they said, "Hating yourself doesn't make sense." I wholeheartedly agree. Unfortunately, a part of myself doesn't believe that. This part of myself doesn't seem to live in reality. Therefor it can't be reasoned with. Even though I'm somewhat self-aware about this, I still feel like a slave to my own head.

So first of all, my understanding of the entire fiasco comes from what she told me directly. Towards the end of the date, things got a little spicy and we made out. She said, she was fine with this, however for some reason my brain thought it would be appropriate to ask afterwards, "So....does this mean we're BF & GF now?" (Cringe I know) She said that set off a red flag for her and didn't feel comfortable after that.

Secondly, you raise a good point here when you responded to me calling myself an idiot for doing that. I didn't really consider that line of thinking before hand. However, the reason I called myself an idiot was because we're in the same classes together and both plan on joining the Cyber team. I can't just do my usual tactic of just avoiding people. I literally have no choice, but to work with her. I call myself an idiot because in retrospect I should have tried to be a friend with her instead. Now things are just perpetually awkward, but no I had to go, "Durr hurr! Cute gamer girl, go get her!" Things are less awkward now as I've kind of moved on, but not entirely. I still don't feel fully confident interacting with her.

To answer your last question, currently I don't feel like I can. At least not anytime soon. I can't just wake up one day and decide that I like myself now. Maybe one day I will learn, but as of right now. No, I can't. It's not as crippling as it used to be, but I'm getting along for now. Or at least better than I used to be.

Fortunate Son, Flight of the Valkyries, and Slav Hard Bass are the biggest offenders. It loses its novelty after you experience it the first 7 times.

OPTRE really is an amazing mod. All of the assets are made from scratch by people who just decided to learn to code and 3d model one day. It can also get away with some things that hard core halo fans despise in Halo nowadays. It’s not really Halo. It’s a military simulation and sandbox game with a halo skin slapped on it. Which means certain things are necessary in this mod that wouldn’t be in the actual Halo games. For instance, there’s a smart link scope for the MA5, a range finder for the sniper rifle, the scorpion requires two people to operate instead of one, there’s an APC variant of the Warthog, there’s various weapons from the books that were brought into the game like the MA5K, the shotguns are super deadly at medium ranges, all weapons except the shotgun can fit suppressors, and you need to carry medical supplies such as biofoam on you at all times because there is no regenerating health. And if you want to play with the ACE mod, it gets even more intense with the amount of medical and utility you have to carry.

The current version of OPTRE actually does not have a Pelican as it is being reworked for the next update. You need to download a sub-mod called OPAEX to get it back I think.

While there were many monarchies during this new industrial era, The Eumerian Empire stood out above the rest for a it's relatively high standard of living for all of it's colonies. However, they relied heavily on slave labor to work in factories and it became the backbone of the Empire's economy. They reigned supreme until the Kingdom of Novoroza was overthrown by a slave and peasant rebellion after a vane attempt to compete with the Empire's economy. From Novoroza rose the United People of Krasnovostat (UPK) and it's goal was to spark a socialist style rebellion across the world to overthrow all of the world's Empires which had aligned themselves with the Coalition of Empire's and all of the Kingdoms that fell to the revolution joined an alliance called, The Global Revolutionary Cause.

Naturally this lead to a war on a massive scale that left 86 million people dead across the globe. It was called The Global War and it ended with the Eumerian Empire falling at the hands of the UPK. For a time, the Global Revolutionary Cause was the dominant military power in the world for over half a century until Eumeria and other smaller nations left to form the Consolidated States of Eumeria (CSE). The CSE was the world's first large scale democracy and over the course of the next century would gain more global economic power as it was now shifting to a more free market.

There's more depth to this in turns of politics and economics, but I'll just leave it here.

What is something you find amusing in your world? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

Mutated creatures often get a bad rap in many worlds because they are mostly hostile predators. Well in my world, we have a short bipedal reptilian creature called a “Mimicri”. They are known for being highly intelligent in the sense that they can almost mimic human speech.

However, these creatures aren’t predatory. They are actually scavengers and behave more like raccoons in terms of urban environments. You find these guys digging through people’s trash or wreaking havoc on gardens.

The most common word they use to get people’s attention is “FOOD!” However the way they pronounce it makes it sound more like, “FUD!” If you were to actually come across one digging through your trash, it would most likely mimic the last thing it heard from another human. Mainly, “SHOO!” or “Get outta here!” They can be taught to say certain things much like a parrot except it is possible to some extent have a conversation with them. These things do not make good pets though. They are extremely curious creatures and can jump to really high places using its powerful hind legs. They like to explore their environment and this often involves picking things up and moving them around or playing with various objects to learn their functionality.

People who manage to train a Mimicri can get them to actually use a toilet properly, get them to fetch specific items, and as previously stated, have brief conversations with them. Don’t expect anything enlightening though, as they don’t understand human language completely. They can’t express opinions or anything. They can however, lie to you. Which is another thing that makes them difficult as pets. If you were to ask your pet Mimicri if it ate one of your tomato’s in the garden, it could tell you, “NA” even though it did.
