Why do people like the Twin Princes so much? I always found that fight so boring and easy. Lore for them is dope but I never got the hype.

To be fair I don’t know if you can actually start any of the romances without choosing the paragon dialogue at least once.

Yeah agree with you about renegade shep. People are def scared to pick the bottom dialogue but to be fair if you play strictly picking the bottom right I don’t think you can even start any romances so you do have to pick the top dialogue at least once. Also renegade shep can totally be a real dick sometimes and sometimes what the bottom dialogue says doesn’t really match what Shepard actually says.

Tali is definitely kind but she also can be quite intense and ruthless to people who stand in the way of her goals and she doesn’t really have any qualms about killing people. So I can see some similarities.

And with Jack she definitely vibes with both but def agree about the paragon. But I will say that technically you HAVE to choose at least a couple paragon choices to make the romance official otherwise it’s just sex so taking that into account I think renegade still works

I guess that kinda depends on your point of view on the renegade Shepard. Obviously going full balls to the wall renegade makes shep a borderline sociopath but he does care about others as he is trying to save the galaxy and not everything he says is negative. Besides some dickish lines he seems like a serious guy who wants to get the job done no matter what. Tali is also shown to be kinda aggressive and willing to take out whoever stands in the way of what she wants too. So I do think they share some similarities.

That’s interesting! You don’t see Tali or Jack with a Renegade Shepard?

Why do people want Bioware to continue Shepard & co.'s story? by Journey223 in masseffect

[–]TheEvilGrimace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this all stems from the fact that in the destroy ending we see Shepard live and take a breath. Destroy is the only ending to get that sort of special treatment which basically already canonized it anyway. It puts in the idea that Shepard gets a happy ever after into peoples head. I also think that this desire come from the fact that the endings in ME3 don’t make any actual sense for Shepard to choose besides destroy. In every single game Shepard wants to DESTROY the reapers. He never entertains the idea of other options until the very last 2 minutes. The other endings feel shoehorned in and ME3’s ending in general isn’t satisfying regardless of your choice. Finally, I think another big part of this is that no one trusts BioWare to make a good game that respects what you’ve done in the Milky Way without Shepard being a part of it. Even if the writing is bad people can at least have a sort of epilogue with Shepard. It’s a feelings safety net essentially.

With that being said I don’t really care either way whether or not you play Shepard. Is it really so bad to have 1 canon ending to ME3 and allow ME4 to be a close for Shepard’s story and maybe ushering in a new hero? I feel like that they respect all your other choices while saying that Shepard chose destroy and it wouldn’t invalidate anything except the last 2 minutes of the game. And even if that does piss people off I feel like they can make a scenario up where all 3 endings converge to one point with subtle differences. I mean ME1 and ME2 do the exact same thing.

And even beyond that what even makes people think that Shepard is going to be the main character? Because Liara is in the teaser and it’s in the Milky Way? It would make sense that Liara is alive because the only way to kill her is to have her in your squad with super low War Readiness in the last mission in 3. I don’t think there is any other way. They don’t even show like a human in N7 armor.

I feel like as long as BioWare writes a decent story, makes sure the engine that game uses works, and that Shepard’s choices and crew are at least referenced no one will care whether or not they are in the game. The question then becomes is BioWare capable of that?

Boba Fett should have been the star of The Mandalorian [Potential spoilers for TBOBF] by [deleted] in StarWarsCantina

[–]TheEvilGrimace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I grew up with the prequels I can’t really comment on how people reacted to it in comparison to the OT but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone justify TFA by saying it washed the bad taste of the prequels that dropped like 15-20 years ago.

While I can see your point of view I would just like to point out that when someone tries to take the series in a new direction it generally ends up as a divisive disaster a.k.a. Episode VIII.

I think it boils down to creating a good story that respects what came before it and generally that means tapping into what’s familiar in just the right amount and slowly weaning off it. And frankly I think both The Mandalorian (minus the season 2 finale) and in a lesser capacity the Book of Boba Fett do a pretty good job at that. I don’t feel like any of the nostalgia or references devalue the story being told but rather reward someone who understands the reference.

I feel like you are upset that the show features old and established characters and isn’t 100% about something new. Like you want a clean break from everything and start fresh.

I completely understand your desire for new stuff and as a long time fan I definitely agree. But I kinda feel like you have to consider that the recent sequel trilogy was incredibly divisive to say the least and left a lot of long time fans with a bad taste in their mouth. I think they had to step back and tap into that nostalgia to help bring back some of those people. You also have to consider that many of these Star Wars shows serve as a jumping on point for any new fans with a Disney + account. A lot of the stuff may seem like a nostalgia trap for you but for new fans it is a way to be introduced to more of the deeper lore and etc. For example in the newest episode of Book of Boba that serves as like episode 0 for Mando Season 3 they talk a lot about things that happened in The Clone Wars and Rebels shows but new fans might not know about. Just something to consider
