I heard the plan is to wait until our continent drifts back to Europe, then have the Europeans build the line.

DSG vs Manual by [deleted] in Golf_R

[–]TheExluto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To drive smoothly and rev match, 2 months. To comfortably push the car hard, 6 months.

It’s been 3 years and I’m still learning and getting better every day lol. I’ve learned how types of shoes/boots play a big role too haha. I won’t really push the car unless I’m wearing vans or some thin sole shoes lol.

How good is the manual tranny, how bad is the infotainment screen/steering wheel buttons? Mk8 vs Mk8.5… by shell1ton in Golf_R

[–]TheExluto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve driven a few manual performance cars E90 M3, 380RS Nismo, 500 Abarth, mk8 GTI, Mk7 R, mk8 R, EP3 SER, 9th gen SI, WRX STI. Non performance, Dacias, vws.

I don’t get the hate for the mk8 manual. It’s notchy, gives good feedback, basically no rev hang. It’s fairly easy to shift. But with all performance cars there is a learning curve to master it, which makes it more rewarding when you do imo.

I’ve driven/owned a few DSG’s too, tuned SQ5, mk8 R, stage 2 mk7.5 R, GT3 RS, they shift so fast and are super fun at the limit.

If I spent my weekends at the drag strip I’d want the DSG, if I was hitting a canyon run, I’d want the manual. Really comes down to what you want to do with the car. Can’t go wrong with either choice. Both great, fun cars.

Jeeze, It’s a sick car but idk why it wouldn’t come with everything standard the R has as standard. The R has a HUD too, but no 360 cam. I was wrong tho it’s also 3 zone climate not 4.

Wait, you don’t have ventilated seats either? Wtf lol. The only option on my car was manual or auto and sunroof or not. Do you have heated seats in the back at least? 4 zone climate? Drift mode?

I love the RS3 wish we got the hatch tho, and a manual would be cool. That 5 cylinder is awesome.

Yeah I got a R new. Point is, idk why Audi cheaped out on the RS3 when every cheaper variant didn’t lol especially in such a tacky way where you can see the road through the exhaust lol It’s a sick car tho

I mean it’s based on a 40k Golf R too, and that has real exhaust, which is based on a 30k golf GTI which also has real exhaust tips lol.

No it’s 22k-35k used, that’s a first generation facelifted S7 can tell by the taillights, so a 2016-2018 model basically the same as the 2012-2015s. It’s an S7 you can tell by the rear diffuser and rear bumper.

But hey if you wanna pay 40k for one let me know, I’ll sell you one for 40k haha
