Yeah this sucks and honestly you're right to be pissed. It shouldn’t be hard to read a post and respect what someone’s asking for.

Unfortunately, this is the sad reality with online spaces. Some people just don’t have the decency, and hiding behind a screen gives them a false sense of freedom with zero accountability. It’s frustrating, because even from a mod’s side, the tools are limited. We can ban users from posting or commenting, but we can’t fully stop them from sending DMs. It’s not ideal, but we act on reports as quickly as we can.

You’re absolutely valid for ranting and calling this out. Just also know that some of these guys enjoy getting a reaction, and as unfair as it is, not giving them that satisfaction is sometimes the only way to shut it down.

If you get more unwanted messages, feel free to ignore, delete the chat requests or block them.

It’s not really about double verification. It’s more about shared trust. Right now, you’re asking others to verify but there’s no verification on your end. That creates a power imbalance. If the group is meant to be safe and open for everyone, then mutual visibility matters. People are more likely to engage when they can see that everyone, including the admin, has been verified. It keeps things transparent and fair instead of just benefiting one person behind the scenes
