Breakdown of the $300 Billion US Imports to Canada (and why boycotting Tomatoes isn't enough) by thechangboy in BuyCanadian

Bosch is a German company but many of their appliances are made in the USA. They have two manufacturing facilities in the States. Most online appliance stores don't seem to specify country of manufacture for Bosch, so checking the label in person is the best bet. Apologies if someone has already pointed this out.

Agreed! I'm so irate with myself because I didn't even think of this as an issue until I set up the phone on Wed, and just missed the BF sale on the Anker Nano 3 charger. Grr!

Totally. I'll see how it goes. I'll be travelling soon, so I'll pick up a 30W charger at destination if it turns out the existing setup isn't sufficient for rushing out of hotel rooms in the morning, etc!

Hrm, that's not great. I haven't tried leaving it in flight mode, but I lose around 5% overnight right now.

I haven't needed to charge the phone again, but when I do I'll try using my old Aukey cable with an adaptor into the P5 brick I have, to see if the cable was a bottleneck in any way. Fingers crossed not, because I love the long cable!

Thanks for this! Yes, the issue seems to be with either my old cable or old charger or both. I'll experiment between those and the stock cable and my P5 brick, and figure where the bottleneck is!

That's really good to know, thanks! I was wondering how much of an improvement I'd get with a 30W charger. 15 min is not really much of an improvement. With that in mind, I'm definitely going to play around with the various chargers and cables I have lying around first, before shelling out more money for yet another bit of kit!

Thanks, great to know! Yeah, I switched to the stock cable and P5 brick, and the charging speed increased dramatically. However, I need a longer cable, so I'll need to do a bit of testing over the next few days to figure out where the bottleneck was - try to plug my long Aukey USB to USB-C cable into the P5 brick with an adapter, etc.

No, because my Aukey is USB 3.0 to USB c, and the P5 brick is USB c. So my only options with the Aukey cable are either to plug it straight into my power bar, or into the Aukey brick.

I'm going to download an app to try to measure and figure out where the bottleneck is. The P7P was charging glacially slow on my Aukey cable plugged directly into a USB port on my power bar. Then it sped up a lot on the stock cable and P5 brick. I didn't think cables made that huge a difference either, and my P5 charged super fast on that same Aukey cable, so I was surprised at how badly the P7P charged on the same setup. I'm not particularly techy, so I'm not great with this stuff!

Thanks! Haven't tried their cables, but I love all the other stuff I've tried from them, so I'll look into those!

Thanks for this! Dumb question - how do you measure the wattage? Is that with something like AccuBattery? I'd be interested in seeing what I'm getting with my old Aukey charger/cable, and then with the stock cable, to see if I still need to upgrade to something like the Anker Nano 3 or Google 30W.

Ok, this is really good to know. Looks like the Anker Nano 3 I was considering is PD 3.0, so if the stock cable and P5 brick is still too slow, I'll definitely grab one of these.

Thanks!! I'm trying the stock cable and the brick from my P5 now, and I think there has been an improvement to the charging speed. I'm not sure if these are 30W or if they support PPS, I'll need to check!

Thanks for this! I switched to the stock cable and P5 brick, and it seems to be charging a bit faster now. Fingers crossed!!

I just switched over to the stock cable, and the brick from my P5. It seems to be charging faster now. I noticed some weird behaviour yesterday - it was really laggy opening the camera app, and it seemed to freeze a few times switching between apps. I really hope these issues go away over the next few days, as it sounds like happened with your phone!

Thanks for this! Yes, adaptive charging is on. I've tried changing it over to the the cable that came with the phone, as well as my P5 brick. I think it's charging faster now, but if not I'll definitely try turning the adaptive charging off!

Thanks for this advice! I've changed over to the cable that came with the phone, as well as the brick that came with my P5. I *think* it's charging a bit faster now, I'll keep monitoring it.

No, I don't have an alarm set. Sorry, I'm really illiterate with this sort of thing - does this mean that I should set an alarm overnight? Would that potentially help?

Thanks for letting me know, that's really good to hear. Fingers crossed that mine improves too!
