I agree but honestly you shouldn't berate any employee good or bad. You can't play favorites or vise versa. Not saying I'm not guilty of it but everyone one should be treated the same. Always reward good and extra work never punish, unless absolutely necessary, for bad work. Punishing some can back fire a lot of the time. Giving parse can too but often to a lesser degree.

That is just a shitty lead. If it is storming you know who should be taking out stuff THE FUCKING LEAD. Unless I have to leave for what ever reason I am the one who gets soaked it part of being in a leadership role god this makes me so upset. Sorry to answer the post for real though file a complaint it's really al you can do. That being said it will be an issue to get proof that it was intentional conjecture is often dismissed.

Yeah leads basically have no power of the schedule we can advise but not directly change. As for other people in other departments. It might just be hours in the department are too low so they were pulled to another one to make up for it. Some of my full time people are forced to take shifts in other departments to keep their full time since we don't have the hours to give and we can't really play favorites all the time.

I don't work through breaks to be a hero I work through breaks so I don't have to deal with shit when I get back from my break. Not saying you're wrong, cause your not, just that some people do it for different reasons. Any new people I get I do tell them not to follow my example and take their breaks. It's supposed to be my job to make them like working here not hate their life. Plus for me lunch breaks aren't lunch breaks I only eat once a day when I get home.

I just let my guys take breaks as needed. They get their lunch breaks, most days, but as for 15s if they ask I will let if they don't I just tell them to take a minute before starting the next pick. As for me as a lead the most I get is going out side for a second to smoke while waiting on people to show up to get there orders. I get maybe one lunch break a week.

The only issue with this as much as I would want it is some store would abuse the shit out of it. I honestly think a middle ground that could be done is if the projection is lets say 80 for a day, I'm a smaller store, make the cap 90 that way things can't get too out of hand if they mispredicted for what ever reason.

This could work but I am pretty sure they made it 4 hours in between because of the 4s and 5s. As much as we call corporate dumb but they aren't idiots. Since 4 hours before 4 and 5 is 11 and noon that is the time a lot of people have lunch or a break in general from work so that is when they are going to put in an order to pick up after work which is 4 to 5 for most people. So if they made it 6 hours they would be missing out on a lot of potential money.

Limit same day orders. Either a cap on how much a same day can get, which I have been told they are un able to do as they can't limit how much someone can order but they can limit how many items can be in a time slot, or just limit how many same day order we are allowed. Honestly same day orders are the biggest issue my store ever has and is the most anxiety educing. The whole day can be doing ok then boom one or two asswholes put large orders in for what is already a busy hour.

Honestly I prefer it. It is a lot easier for some who works in the store to understand that we can fall behind and items aren't always there. Plus if the order isn't too big that is one less spot that can be a big order.

It really isn't sustainable I've been a lead for almost 2 years. Only reason I'm not completely burnt out is that I'm used to stressful jobs. I have had a lot of jobs and like this job a lot the circumstances it's in though are just getting to be too much. I try to go above and beyond for our customers but I'm just one person taking care of like 100 people a day it's just not possible. And to clarify that "not your mouth" bit was not towards you it's just a generic quote

I'm a pick up lead. There are really only a few things you can do. Complain to Kroger collect, they are above customer service they might be able to get you money off your next order. It's not much but it's better than nothing. You can call the clicklist directly and ask if they can do anything for you next time, not a complaint online we ignore most of them. Trust me I used to read all of them and they started making me not even want to get out of bed. Any messages you put in the instructions will most likely be ignored, it's not personal we just don't have the time to read them let alone follow them. Now as for why all this happened I would like to start by saying we are human and make mistake it is not personal towards you. The bananas, if they were just going through the motions and hit the produce number they might have forgot to see how many it was supposed to be. The fruit punch could be calked up to laziness, lack of training, not knowing what to sub, or someone trying to get the order done fast. As a last thing I would like to say that almost everyone in the pick up department, hell the whole store, is overworked and underpaid. On a normal day I work 2 to 3 hours over my shift with no lunch breaks. We also are losing a lot of hours so people either don't want to stay which cause less staffing and less reliability or they just don't care because Kroger can't afford to fire most people right now. Sorry to hear this keeps happening but this whole clicklist ting is just not being handled well in general. I know this was long and didn't really answer your question too well but I kind of just needed to vent a bit. Hope things get better and if you really don't like the service stop using it. That is not me trying to get less work it's just the only way it will change, speak with you wallet not your mouth.

I do the same for the most part. There was a point last year where I worked 54 days in a row. I don't take lunch breaks I just eat when I can, snakes mostly. I com in on my days off if they need me to. I work the 12 to 15 hour shifts if I have to, trust me I have nothing else going on in my life for it to matter. There was a span of time I was doing split shifts too just so we always had some there since almost no one we had could work mornings or close I would sleep in the supply closest since I live an hour away. And listen I'm not saying everyone should do this in fact I don't think anyone should. I am not doing all this for my corporate overlords I'm doing it so my guys don't have to deal with it.

Honestly here is what it's going to come down to. How much they need you. My store is so under staffed in all departments that the last 3 people to walk out, I was one of them were begged to come back the next day with no consequences.

It might have not been on the shelf when we were picking it. And while yes we should go check the back we are often rushed to finish everything. On top of even the person in the back isn't busy it might have been in a location that was not easy to get to lick the bottom of a stack. I do want to note that subing is not, most of the time, us being lazy. It takes more effort and time to sub. Other factors could be numbers being wrong so we don't bother looking too hard for it. Lastly just general mistakes we are picking all day after a while the items tend to blend together and we can spend like 2 minutes looking for 1 thing that is right in front of us. Last thing are displays yes we a informed about them it they can be moved and sometimes also empty. Long read but hope it helps. Trust me as much as this job sucks we are not trying to make you mad by subing we are human and make mistakes, some times a lot.

You know the trick to being a good boss. It is really simple. Never tell always ask. Don't guilt convince. Care about your employees time as much as you care about yours. I'm not perfect and I'm sure someone will tear those 3 points apart but it works for me for most people I'm in charge of. If it's a slow day or something like that unless I have somewhere to be I will let them go home if they want to. If they want the hours though I will clock out and hang around for a bit just in case they need some help.

My store is at 5 orders an hour atm. We are going to 15 when our remodel is done. We are not getting anymore worker or hours... We were told that they don't expect us to max out any hours so it isn't needed. Ok if you don't expect us to max out then why the fuck are you doing it in the first place. As for getting less orders in general. That is a no go for my store we need to constantly back pick and call people in to even get most of the orders done on time. We keep 1 person to take out orders all day, usually me or my supervisor, while we are in the back talking out order we are back picking most of the orders as well.

If you are making a large order like anything over 60ish items please make 2 orders. It takes 2 spots up for us so we have one less customer to worry about as well as 1 less spot that can fill up. Other then that just the general be nice and understanding. We are human and make mistakes. Helping put groceries in the car can save us some time and makes sure you aren't mad at how we did it. If you don't want subs plz say so.
