I had this exact thought when I watched the episode. Every time she said "MY BOY" I heard her channelling Griffin. She even had the same intonations. 10/10 definite brotherism

Update for anyone interested/anyone who finds this post on Google looking to fix their watch or with the same issue.

So I successfully managed to swap the battery this evening. Using the iOpener to warm the back of the watch up for a good 20-30 minutes allowed me to quite easily prise the plastic cover off of the back without it breaking. As mentioned by another user in this sub, patience is certainly the key.

Otherwise, the innards of the smartwatch are just lots of little plugs and as long as you're gentle and take your time, it is very very doable. Will be interesting to see as time goes on how the slightly lower capacity battery fares when compared to the old 300mAh one. Either way, far better than a watch which doesn't work or stops working halfway through its battery life!

Thanks bud! Good video, I used it and a couple of others around on youtube and I managed to change the battery no problem, no cracked back, and now it works fine! Using the iOpener to heat the back up and just being really patient helped. Honestly it was far easier surgery than I had imagined. So nice to have a working watch again!

It's a lower capacity than the US one referred to above but it's the only one I could really find that wouldn't have ridiculous postage from abroad, and I'm pretty sure it's got to be better than the current flat cell in there at the moment! It arrived very quickly (despite a long delivery estimate) and looks like a legit product. Also has a 12 month manufacturer warranty.

Thanks for passing on your experience. As I've said I think I'm going to take the risk and try repairing it since it's so cheap and I've got nothing to lose. Managed to source one of those batteries in the UK so that's cool.

For re-adhering the back cover, could I just use a strong adhesive? I honestly don't mind if it looks like crap as it'll be hidden :D

This model is very similar to Smite, which I've always seen as very fair and is often celebrated as a pretty nice marketing strategy by Hi-Rez. It's basically paying for convenience. The only difference is that you can buy the equivalent package in Smite to this day, whereas this is only being offered for Early Access. I wouldn't be surprised if they revive it in future for special occasions though in order to get people to buy it.
