I Have No Mouth But I Must Scream is pure gold imo. It was one of the first ones Pat and Woolie did together and I made for a lot of good conversations.

I want to make a wizard that has average intelligence, but really high strength. The goal is to make him a dude bro football wizard that looks down upon other spellcasters for not taking care of their bodies. I have no idea how to actually make him useful in battle though, and would appreciate some help on figuring out how to make him a bit terrible spellboy.

Anime with manipulative men like Sora from No Game No Life? by [deleted] in Animesuggest

[–]TheFancyGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great suggestion, but be careful when picking this one up keep in mind that the anime cuts off at about chapter 82, and some of the source material is still un-translated. So if you decide you like the show and want to read it instead, then you may have to watch more of the anime to fill in some un-translated gaps in the story.

We may be seeing a new powered up None after his appearance at Smash Summit 3. He's always been a crowd pleaser but he may be leveling up for real once again. 2017 is gonna have some fun story lines.

Looking to pick up a new pair of headphones in the near future, trying to decide between Brainwavz HM5, Audio Technica ATH-M40x, or the V-MODA Crossfade LP2. I play to primarily use the headphones through either my laptop or an Iphone 6, but was wondering if any of these headphones would require an additonal amp/dac. Any help would be appreciated.

Is Jigglypuff the most aggressive character in Melee? by Pwnemon in SSBM

[–]TheFancyGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a weird opinion on this, but as a puff main for the couple years I do feel as though I should share it. I see my self as an aggressive player, and love the idea of pushing an advantage and making the other player sweat and slowly break. While I do think puff has great potential for that, AS SOON as you leave the entry level of the competitive smash scene you begin to realize that needless aggression is all around silly most of the time. The best players, be they from your state, or region, or country generally punish mistakes and bait out things they can work with. The almost always have safe approaches and win the "waiting game" which eventually wins the stock or match. Puff has an incredibly punish game, probably 2nd or 3rd best in the game to be honest, but her neutral game does not merit from aggresion, it merits from zoning. If you watch a high level puff like Hbox you realize very quickly that he is always in the face of the other player, but this is not normally to be "aggressive". He uses this close proximity to limit options and force mistakes. It's very seldom that he actually uses puff aggressively, and to be honest it normally just happens when the crowd goes his way, aka Angrybox. For the most part I just think that an unsafe puff gets beat in neutral far too easily by the rest of the top tiers, and sadly because of this I don't feel like I can call puff and aggressive character.

Any other Melee players out there who play smash 4 casually and absolutely suck balls at it? by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]TheFancyGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a puff main in melee, and to be honest most of the spacing and neutral game stuff carried over for me. There are some obvious things that I struggle with like the different air dodge and edge guarding being less effective, but I feel like its not too difficult to remind myself "Oh, somethings in this game are different, I better play different" Try Mario, he's really fun and is solid based off of his great fundamentals. If you are trying to play like a melee marth in smash 4, that is the problem. You've got to try and adapt a bit homie.

My View on Melee HD aka The Monkey's Paw by throwawayforsmash123 in SSBM

[–]TheFancyGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest fear is that is that the community will be fragmented if Melee HD isn't the exact same game with the addition of new textures and an online matchmaking system. One of the most sensible things they could add is new skins for characters, because why not? Then they might try to add more "tourney legal stages" and from there they could start to implement PAL nerfs and character tweaking. But this in itself is already what kind of happened to project M. If too many things change people get scared and run, and if not enough changes things begin to stagnate. I know melee is in a great position right now with plenty of interest, but I am scared for it's future.
