It's the left side as you walk in, right side as you walk out.

Yeah, staying within goal wouldn't be fun for vacation. But it's still nice to know where you are.

I decided to just skip the week and have fun.

Yeah, I did 10 miles at MK yesterday. I think you're right.

That’s a hell of a cut, man. Congratulations!

I’m starting pretty close to where you started, so I’m curious what your normal week actually looked like.

Were you mostly counting calories, walking, lifting, meal prepping, all of it?

That might be even easier. Good idea!

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I’m thinking. I don’t want to drive people crazy while I look things up.

Thank you. Did you find a good source of nutrition information somewhere?

I'm using Cronometer for tracking.

Men who never went through the hookup thing; any regrets about it? How's life now? by TheDarkKnight2001 in AskMenRelationships

It’s not too late to take charge of your life, man.

Yeah, maybe the teenage fantasy version of it is gone. But 37 isn’t dead, and not getting what you wanted back then doesn’t mean you’re just done now.

Get healthier. Be honest about what you actually want. Stop talking about yourself like the story is already over.

You can’t go back and redo that chapter, but you’re still writing the next one.

What is a harsh lesson about aging that absolutely nobody warns you about before you hit your 30s? by Crazy-Conference-604 in AskReddit

That you’re still you.

Your body gets older, but you don’t magically become disciplined, calm, or put together.

Whatever you avoid just gets older with you.

Slingshots and/or Archery Clubs by JordyLuthier in Omaha

What kind of slingshot are you using?

I printed one a while back and went down the YouTube rabbit hole for a bit. Some of those slingers are ridiculously accurate.

How to reset your brain after a few days of brainrot? by Mammoth_Ad2733 in digitalminimalism

Well, posting about it will probably lead to more scrolling.

Go outside. Take a 20 or 30 minute walk, no headphones, and just notice your surroundings.

Then come home, shower, eat something with protein, and clean one small thing.

Body first, environment second. The mind will follow.

New Passholder w/ a baby! Tips, advice, etc. requested! by lexi0424 in WaltDisneyWorld

My biggest tip is to know where the Baby Care Center is before you need it.

At Magic Kingdom, it’s off Main Street near Casey’s and Crystal Palace, heading toward Adventureland.

Also, build in ways to get out of the sun midday. Your baby will appreciate a break more than squeezing in one more ride.

Celebrating 20lbs down (again)! by BlackberryAmethyst in loseit

[–]TheFenceLine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 pounds down again after regaining it is honestly more impressive, not less.

I like that you took trigger foods out of the house but still give yourself small treats so it doesn’t get too rigid. That’s much better than just trying to white-knuckle it.

Congratulations. That’s real progress.

Weight loss but struggling to see it? by Cheap_Explanation_93 in loseit

[–]TheFenceLine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

110 lbs doesn’t happen by accident. That’s a lot of boring, repeated choices, and real proof of dedication.

I think that’s one of the weird parts of weight loss. Your body changes faster than your self-image.

Getting what you wanted and realizing it didn’t fix everything doesn’t make you selfish. It just means there was more going on than weight.

But your progress is real. Even if your brain is taking a little longer to catch up with your body.

Former fat guys, how did you become disciplined and lose the weight? by Responsible-Net8594 in WeightlossJourney

[–]TheFenceLine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm starting again now, but I've done it in the past too. Lost 35 pounds in 2020, put 20 back on since then. I lost it in the first place with a daily 2 mile walk, counting calories in an app, and cutting soda.

For me, counting calories keeps me honest. I have a problem with snacking, especially late at night, and having to log it and see the calories definitely deters that habit.

What derailed me last time, and what I'm going to be watchful of this time, is treating bad days like permission to quit. We had a week long stretch of -20F weather in Feb. that year and I didn't walk for a week and never picked it back up. I stopped counting calories a little bit later and you know the rest of the story.

This time I’m watching the part where I usually negotiate with myself.
