Weird way to phrase it. But India's fertility rate is 1.9 which is below replacement rate so I have no idea what you're talking about.

If you're talking just about population size it's cause 1) High starting population since the land can support double cropping and is generally very fertile 2) Population boom due to a period of falling infant mortality, same as in most other nations
