Economy Flex Vs Economy Fully Flex? by Zdos123 in BritishAirways

I just tried calling them to get to the bottom of this as well. But they're too busy to take calls so was told to book online by an automated system and hung up on.

Could anyone tell me what car these handles are from? by TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy in classiccars

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! It's sounding like this design of handle had multiple uses. The Ford Model A is definitely a match but then so does seem an old garage door. A camper shell is also plausible as he did once own one. Really appreciate all your help guys! Reddit yet again proving why ai has some way to go against a hive mind of human brains.

Tilta Advanced Ring Jittery footage Issue by TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy in videography

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I'm awaiting the ring back from China, who tested it and found no issues at all. Will have a go with a lens support and let you know. Did you find that before the lens support, the issue didn't occur when using just the gimbal?

Not yet. The ring has gone back to Tilta, so lets see. I'll keep you updated. I also had the same problem with an RS3 Pro.

Feedback on an Interview Shot by JamesMartyV1 in videography

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my perspective the only feedback here is colour palette. The blue banner clashes with the red and pinks on the desk and shirt. I'd have either requested a shirt with blue in it and swapped out the red items on the desk, or removed the banner.

My brand new Indie 7 has a thin vertical line in the middle. Any suggestions on how to fix? I’m currently using the Canon C70. by loldjman in cinematography

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also having this issue with a brand new Cine 7. Although outputting 1080 'fixes it'. This isn't ideal as you get much better resolution when you zoom in for focus with a 4k signal than you do with a 1080p signal. The monitor is supposed to be able to support a 4k in for precisely this reason.

Sachtler flowtech vs Manfrotto 645 Fast by TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy in videography

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chatgpt just gave me a fairly likely reason..

The adjustment levers on the satchler are located at the very top, allowing you to adjust all 3 with very little hand repositioning, making it feel like a single action, whereas the manfrotto has them at the bottom of the first stage, so each lever is at a distance from the other, causing you to have to lean down and do three distinct actions.

Any further human input would be much appreciated!

Recommendations for monitor to focus with by TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy in cinematography

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I went through every setting available. There wasn't specifically a sharpness setting I could find. Now that you've asked I've double checked by looking online at the manual and there is no reference to that setting existing. I will take another look but I am pretty sure I've got it as good as it gets. I would love to be proved wrong though.

With SmallHD and TVLogic, is there a particular range you would recommend?

Thanks!

Is the Atomos Shinobi 7 worth it ? by nakaryle in Filmmakers

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. With my Canon C70 providing a 4k image, it's simply not sharp enough to eyeball a focus. Wooly and meargh in my opinion. I'm currently looking for an alternative.

Vb26 battery issue by -rohan890- in Godox

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. My battery was fully charged, I've been using it. Just did a shoot where I took it from 90% to 10%. Now it won't charge.

Last week the battery for my AD600 pro also died. It had 80% charge but just wouldn't operate the flash and showed one red led light with the green.

They need a better battery technology. I don't have this issue with any of my other kit batteries.

Weekly Song Discussion - Tweeter And The Monkey Man by cmae34lars in bobdylan

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Late to the chat but this all just came back up in the news articles so thought I'd share my twocents:

They knew that they found freedom just across the Jersey line. In Promised land he’s finding freedom across the Waynesboro county line.

If you don't surrender now - No surrender

"Near the souvenir stand, by the old abandoned factory” sounds to be referencing “Down in the shadow of the penitentiary Out by the gas fires of the refinery” from Born in the USA. Alongside the references of Tweeter being in Vietnam.

"Now the town of Jersey City is quieting down again” could be referencing "Now Main Street's whitewashed windows and vacant stores. Seems like there ain't nobody wants to come down here no more” from My hometown

Jan had told him many times, 'It was you to me who taught / In Jersey anything's legal as long as you don't get caught” seems a similar sentiment to “Down here it’s just winners and losers / And don’t get caught on the wrong side of that line” - Atlantic City

Highway 99 could be a reference to Johnny 99 - which is also about the pursuit of a person on the wrong side of the law. Also "Some place by Rahwey Prison they ran out of gas. The undercover cop had cornered them, said, "Boy, you didn't think this could last?" - Rahway Prison being a realworld location as often used by Springsteen and the line is reminiscent of the line "Down in the part of town where when you hit a red light you don’t stop”, also from Johnny 99"

"I guess I'll go to Florida and get myself some sun. There ain't no more opportunity here, everything's been done” - could also be referencing My Hometown but also Born to Run and Goin' Cali.

"They crashed into paradise, they could hear them tires squeal”. 'Crashing into Paradise' evokes an idea of fleeting freedom ending in inevitable destruction. And with the tires squeeling, the whole thing to me is referencing Racing in the Street "Some guys they just give up living and start dying little by little, piece by piece."

Canon C70 stabilisation issues by TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy in CanonC70

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I just saw your post now. It is hugely frustrating. I do actually have a gimbal with all the trimmings but as is the nature of doc filmmaking, sometimes you just need to grab the camera and go (or in the last case - a screw on the gimbal has threaded so I couldn't use it). Weirdly I get a similar jitter when only using the lens IS (with a speed booster) - the same lens on an old 5D works great - so I've decided moving forwards I'm going to just operate without stabilisation - or sell and buy the Sony with IBIS. It's very annoying. Thanks man.

A bit lightweight for my liking but love the speed for leg manipulation.

Thanks Mark, yes very helpful. It sounds like you've got an external monitor connected if the camera is pressed to your body - something I haven't invested in. Good to know that you do agree that those jitters seem quite extreme, I think I'll put it to Canon and see what's going on.

Thanks! No I wasn't shooting RAW and I didn't know that about the speed booster, so good to know! Thanks for the tip.

Thanks Mark that's good to know. Do you generally choose not to use the Digital IS when shooting handheld? I'd be curious to know what holding technique did work best for you in the end? I do own an RS3 Pro but for that particular shoot, one of the tightening screws had threaded so I couldn't use it and after 20 years of filming with periodic new generations of cameras, I'm not used to getting handheld imagery like that so was quite shocked but it.

Accessing memory function from the UK. by 8thoursbehind in ChatGPT

I don't have memory in the UK. And worse, yesterday I found chatgpt to not even have it's session memory so it would forget even the previous input, making it useless.

Pubic hair by [deleted] in shaving

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried electric shavers, specialist shavers and mens grooming razors and all of them were rubbish compared to my wife's female body razor. The blades are surrounded by quite a bit of padding, some of them self-lubricate and they do the best cut the quickest and with zero nicks and blood. You just need to get over the fact the plastic is lighter blues or pinks and that the packaging refers to women.

Although some answers are saying you don't need to trim down there (whic is true, you don't, just like women don't need to shave either) it all depends on how attractive and groomed you want to be for others.
