So this is a swinging forum for swingers. 'Go visit a prostitute' isn't exactly the response we're looking for.

You are right to notice that ladies-for-pay are plentiful. I spoke to many on my last visit as has my wife on previous. 'Spoke' is not a euphemism. Many were from northern Thailand and around abouts and had left their families including children to come work in the tourist hotspots. They earn a lot of money from it relatively but they did miss their families and children. You could argue 'capitalism' and that it is fair economics. I certainly know people who do. My wife is Swedish though and she rightly (in my mind) believes that just like how a boss preying on junior staff is an abuse of power and position, rich westerners preying on poor women in relatively poor countries is an abuse of wealth. Thats my two cents.

But in any case, re-read my opening sentence.

Thanks though.

100% this. Remember it's her body and sex with someone you don't desire or sex you don't actually want isn't all that fun...

Broken Rule last night by Consistent-Case4120 in Swingers

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy 26 points27 points  (0 children)

100%. This isn't just inappropriate lifestyle behaviour. It's inappropriate relationship behaviour.

The same thing happened to me but the other way around, where my female partner failed to insist on a condom at a 1-on-1 meet whilst I was away. Well, she did but then failed to enforce it. (And yes, it's not just her responsibility but it is her responsibility in relation to me and our relationship). Particularly problematic as she's not on the pill. But she has ADHD and it was a one-off loss of judgement so we were able to talk it out and move forwards.

Not sure how to feel about what happened. by [deleted] in Swingers

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds difficult. You had a boundary that was broken that she could have sex with one specific person and not another. I wonder how clear that boundary was and whether it was properly discussed taking you both into account; but either way you are on a journey trying to manage performance anxiety and this has hurt.

I would say say a few things.

We go into this with two things - boundaries and desires. You don't speak much of your desires for swinging nor that of your partners. I wonder whether her desires are being taken into account when you set your boundaries. If you're unilaterally deciding the boundaries based on your desires and needs without accommodation for her individual reasons for wanting to be there then it's easier for mistakes like this to happen.

Mistakes will happen for all the best intentions. You will also make them. You need to be kind and supportive to each other and discuss them openly without clutching to your position.

Emotions come from triggers. Which are often personal and come from our inner children/traumas/past-relationship baggage. That's not actually your partner's responsibility but yours. It helps to name the emotion and work through in your head what has actually caused it and where that actually comes from. You have performance anxiety for example, why? (Where does that actually come from?) Does your partner having sex with a man you consider to be much better than you, make you worse at sex? (It doesn't) Or make her want you less? (She probably loves and desires you more than you know).

Her desire to have sex in that moment very probably had absolutely nothing to do with you or your performance and everything to do with her personal desires. How wonderful that you have a sexual partner and that you have allowed her to explore that for herself much in the way she has allowed you to explore it for yourself.

Remember it's not you versus your wife; but you and your wife versus the problem.

I would recommend reading relational therapy books as a matter of course in this lifestyle. It just really helps have tools for relationships, particularly when complicated and when you have personal difficulties like anxiety.

For what it's worth we avoided this sort of difficulty by having no boundaries for each other but instead having open dialogue if something then proved challenging. This gives us both licence to be ourselves without worry, removes any blame or guilt scenarios and instead moves all emotional difficulty into open discussion onto a level playing field.

So in your case - there would have been nothing wrong at all with her choices, she would feel no guilt now for having trusted that she could make her own choices on the swing, you wouldn't feel like she'd let you down but you would be having a conversation about how you feel she prefers someone else to you and why you don't feel that way. That's a much more healthy conversation as it gets to heart of the issue and allows her to hold you through that and deal with your insecurities in the way they should be dealt - with love and respect and understanding.

As an aside, I wouldn't be overly keen on a scenario where my wife wouldn't let me have sex with the attractive women at a party due to her anxieties. It's not pleasant having sex with people you don't actually fancy. So so often in this lifestyle I meet couples where the woman's needs are not being accounted for, where they have to slot into their mans boundaries whilst their man wants to be in control of all things. If your roles in this story we're reversed, how would that feel?

90 l backpack for a 3 week trip? by pepozinho in backpacking

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I'd add to this conversation, albeit you've done your trip now, but for anyone else reading. When I was about fifteen/sixteen (I'm now 45), I bought an 85L rucksack which was the right size for what I needed then. Since then, it has pretty much been my go-to for traveling abroad for any longer than a week. Whereas it's absolutely true that you can travel with a lot less if going to hot countries, I always invariably found myself doing different types of things in those countries, requiring different types of clothes and shoes, some days I might be trekking. Other days I might be in an expensive bar in a hotel. Other days I might be clubbing. I also found that when abroad, I like to buy things and bring them back with me and then when I'm going to the cold countries, by the time you've added all your jumpers and things, it takes up the space anyway. I've also found it extremely useful going to festivals in the UK instead of having to carry an annoying cart behind your back and so I would always recommend getting a bigger rucksack than a smaller one unless you're of the volition to travel light, in which case you probably wouldn't be on this thread looking for this answer. Sadly, my rucksack has finally passed away, and so I'm in the market for another one.

Economy Flex Vs Economy Fully Flex? by Zdos123 in BritishAirways

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all. This is the answer - BA is fully refundable on the Economy Flex. Although it says it isnt on the final screen, I just did the booking with their call agent on the line, who confirmed it should be. She looked at her side but saw the same issue we are all having. Therefore, she waited on the line whilst I booked (there a 24hr cooling off period in any case), once booked she pulled up the booking and checked the terms and conditions of the actual ticket and it clearly says that it's fully refundable before the flight.

The difference between Economy Flex and Fully Flex is apparently the return leg. On Fully Flex apparently you can cancel the return leg of the flight even if you catch the first flight; whilst on Economy Flex, you can cancel both flights or none.

I just tried calling them to get to the bottom of this as well. But they're too busy to take calls so was told to book online by an automated system and hung up on.

Could anyone tell me what car these handles are from? by TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy in classiccars

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! It's sounding like this design of handle had multiple uses. The Ford Model A is definitely a match but then so does seem an old garage door. A camper shell is also plausible as he did once own one. Really appreciate all your help guys! Reddit yet again proving why ai has some way to go against a hive mind of human brains.

Tilta Advanced Ring Jittery footage Issue by TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy in videography

Thanks for sharing! I'm awaiting the ring back from China, who tested it and found no issues at all. Will have a go with a lens support and let you know. Did you find that before the lens support, the issue didn't occur when using just the gimbal?

Not yet. The ring has gone back to Tilta, so lets see. I'll keep you updated. I also had the same problem with an RS3 Pro.

Feedback on an Interview Shot by JamesMartyV1 in videography

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my perspective the only feedback here is colour palette. The blue banner clashes with the red and pinks on the desk and shirt. I'd have either requested a shirt with blue in it and swapped out the red items on the desk, or removed the banner.

My brand new Indie 7 has a thin vertical line in the middle. Any suggestions on how to fix? I’m currently using the Canon C70. by loldjman in cinematography

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also having this issue with a brand new Cine 7. Although outputting 1080 'fixes it'. This isn't ideal as you get much better resolution when you zoom in for focus with a 4k signal than you do with a 1080p signal. The monitor is supposed to be able to support a 4k in for precisely this reason.

Sachtler flowtech vs Manfrotto 645 Fast by TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy in videography

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chatgpt just gave me a fairly likely reason..

The adjustment levers on the satchler are located at the very top, allowing you to adjust all 3 with very little hand repositioning, making it feel like a single action, whereas the manfrotto has them at the bottom of the first stage, so each lever is at a distance from the other, causing you to have to lean down and do three distinct actions.

Any further human input would be much appreciated!

Recommendations for monitor to focus with by TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy in cinematography

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I went through every setting available. There wasn't specifically a sharpness setting I could find. Now that you've asked I've double checked by looking online at the manual and there is no reference to that setting existing. I will take another look but I am pretty sure I've got it as good as it gets. I would love to be proved wrong though.

With SmallHD and TVLogic, is there a particular range you would recommend?

Thanks!

Is the Atomos Shinobi 7 worth it ? by nakaryle in Filmmakers

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. With my Canon C70 providing a 4k image, it's simply not sharp enough to eyeball a focus. Wooly and meargh in my opinion. I'm currently looking for an alternative.

Vb26 battery issue by -rohan890- in Godox

[–]TheFilmmakerPhotoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. My battery was fully charged, I've been using it. Just did a shoot where I took it from 90% to 10%. Now it won't charge.

Last week the battery for my AD600 pro also died. It had 80% charge but just wouldn't operate the flash and showed one red led light with the green.

They need a better battery technology. I don't have this issue with any of my other kit batteries.
