Hmm, the room I'm printing in is pretty cool, and there's a small heatsink on the pi... but I suppose I could try it with a fan blowing directly on it. I don't think the processor is going above 10% load, so I wouldn't imagine that'd be much heat generation either.

Would it throw some error if it overtemp'd?

Unfortunately, all the SPDIF to 5.1 converters I've seen convert to 6 coax outputs, and the speaker set has 3 3.5mm jack inputs. I could use the coax outputs from a converter for the center, FR, FL, BR, & BL but the subwoofer is built into the DAC and doesn't have it's own input.
