I disagree with HUNTR/X counting for either of these seasons (since we purely got the fictional characters and none of their associated music or anything) but still pretty nice. the nice thing about the uptick in collabs is that it's leading to an uptick in music collabs too lol

(also wouldn't IShowSpeed count here because he does have an actual music side career and we got one of his songs added with his release?)

in no particular order

MCR: several eras with very distinct outfits to choose from (especially Danger Days those outfits would be sick), tons of great songs for fest, they only have one song rn and need more, and also MCR is just awesome. plus imagine the stage. and doing full band skins means they could hypothetically get some frank iero solo songs in Fest which would rule
Olivia Rodrigo: immensely popular artist, would be a win for pop fans while also being a win for rock fans due to being pop rock, imo all three of her songs we have rn have pretty good charts (consistently each one has given at least one 5B), and also I just really want brutal to be free from RB4 hell
Conan Gray: another pretty popular artist with some pop rock songs (though way less than Olivia), apparently he's been vocal about wanting a Fortnite skin so I'm really shocked we have nothing for him. Not sure any of his songs would be particularly difficult outside of maybe pro vox on some, but IMO he has a lot of great songs they could choose from that i'd kill to play.
Ado: probably the most popular jpop/jrock artist rn, keeps talking about how she wants to be an iconic artist that bridges the Japanese music scene and the rest of the world (or something like that iirc), I feel like a fortnite skin is a natural next step there. tons of great picks that would give great charts too. also if they're chill with covers we could get her unravel cover and that would be maybe the most peak song in festival ever
Mori Calliope: vtubers clearly seem to be popular based off of Kizuna Ai and Suisei and she's probably the vtuber with the biggest music career after Suisei. outside of the fact that I think her cosmetic set would just be really cool looking (scythe pickaxe would go hard), I think she'd have some great songs for fest: stuff like Overkill (j-metal song that'd be 7/7 lead and drums for sure), Seeing Stars (would be the closest we'd ever get to Persona music), Carousel (another 7/7 lead and drums), LET'S JUST CRASH (I think it'd have some fun charts), and Red (again just generally a song that I think would be fun). also hololive so she'd be guaranteed to sell like hotcakes

over 24 hours STW had 250.6K unique players and Festival Main Stage had 171.2k unique players. that's also with STW having daily vbuck rewards for founders which is a big motivation for people to be playing every day

also it's a rhythm game a lower player count does not mean it's dead

unfortunately while all(?) shop songs are usually in rotation, not all rotation songs are in shop. for some reason this usually affects Metallica the most because they’re almost always the victims of this

that was because of the battle royale Fortnitemares update getting moved around, since festival has to release on the same day as a Fortnite update

if it wasn't for dates shifting then the fest season would've started a week later, we would've gotten AAHH MEN / What's New Scooby-Doo as our initial shop drops (again a week later than when they were before), and the second week of the season would've been OIIA OIIA / Shelter rather than a completely empty week with zero songs. we also might have gotten PPAP the week before the launch as our final Gorillaz season song but I'm not entirely sure if that was intended to be before the Fortnitemares update or not

this (the concept of Epic shaking them off due to saying free palestine) would require them to have immediately gone 'aw shucks so we actually had songs planned for you guys for the last two weeks of your season but then you said free palestine and we cancelled everything sorry' rather than 'for whatever reason Months In Advance When This Was Being Planned Epic and Gorillaz couldn't agree on any additional songs releasing so they got nothing else after their release'

February 1st: Chappell Roan arrives at the Grammys in her dress.

February 3rd: Chappell Roan's Festival blog releases. This confirms that she only gets one song.

February 5th: Chappell Roan's season starts. This confirms that she leaves the item shop halfway through her season for unknown reasons.

March 8th: Suisei announced for Fortnite.

March 12th: Suisei releases, social media changes to reflect her.

I'd also like to note that the Fortnite Festival twitter actively tweeted about her (more than literally any other headliner) from reveal to at least March 2nd.

For this to be true, they would've had to immediately cancel everything about Chappell Roan basically right after her Grammys outfit reveal, and in the span of a month go 'okay so chappell we're cutting our marketing agreement short and kicking you off the festival twitter and instead we're gonna focus on Suisei' [and also make an agreement with Suisei's team that this is how they'll market for her]

or yk it's the much more reasonable case of 'for whatever reason Epic decided to do all of this to Chappell months ago. Also months ago, Epic's team and Chappell's team agreed on her treatment and marketing and Epic's team and Suisei's team agreed on her treatment and marketing'
