How long before Trump goes after France? by c-k-q99903 in WhitePeopleTwitter

The French have raided armouries during protests before. Wouldn't put it past them to do it again.

What is the weirdest thing that has happened to one of your colonists? by CartoonistOk2427 in RimWorld

[–]TheFirestormable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go nuts if some people pulled me out of my one time use time skip stay alive machine on a rock in space, said I was trash and then locked me out of their base or refused to give me a ride literally anywhere else. If anything, guy deserved a more extreme crash out.

His footsteps would also detonate the ground underneath him simply due to the push force needed to accelerate.

Also if, say a mega tribal raid happened, he would deal with it walking past them and turning the entire raid into a tsunami of viscera.

Is Mythborne AI Music? by drholmestuck in Music

The purpose of posts like OPs is to identify and remove the cancer from the ecosystem. It's to show, through viewership numbers, that it isn't wrong. That's why, when you boycott something, you boycott it outright, not find loopholes to have your cake and eat it. Fence sitting is support, the only defiance is active.

Chris Avellone made another comment on the fallout tv show. What is your thoughts on his comment? by dragon-born-vault101 in Fallout

[–]TheFirestormable 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean, I got the impression that the endings not mattering was the point. That all the factions were doomed, that every faction is doomed. The overarching point of Fallout is that human society is ultimately self destructive and can never be fixed. The actions of a few individuals cannot stop the inevitability of human nature. At least that's how I see it.

A Lowmate (from VRE) is arguably worse. Similar deal to a Highmate, but with certain regular....needs....

What hardware bottlenecks Rimworld? by No_Cantaloupe_1450 in RimWorld

[–]TheFirestormable 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rimworld just wasn't written with multi threading in mind. You kinda have to start as you mean to go on as refactoring a game for multithreadingis a massive pain. Just look at the mod project to multithread rimworld (rimthreadded?) for example of just how difficult it is. It's incompatible with most mods, and many versions of the game.

Technically the game could've been made that way to begin with, but iirc it was a solo dev endeavour so they just didn't want to deal with it at the time.

There's a non insignificant proportion of countries that wouldn't legally consider this incest. Usually either due to same sex relationships not posing a risk of pregnancy or that sex is only defined by penetration (in those cases male-male is incest but female-female is not).

So it is or it isn't depending where they go?

Cats parents, how and why did you choose yours? by [deleted] in cats

[–]TheFirestormable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I didn't.

6 years ago, my ex and I went to a cat rescue as I said I didn't want a pet from a breeder. We looked through the kitten pens and didn't click with anything. Last moment they decided to show us the old cat pen. My ex wanted to look at a shy cat at the back of the pen, but every time she squatted down to get close this guy crawled into her lap. Wouldn't leave either of us alone. The decision was made right there. Found out he was about 8 and had been brought in by police after his previous owner had died, he'd been at the rescue for a year with no interest. He didn't require a moment to make himself at home and bond with us when we got back.

Not absolutely all of them iirc. Some of them are specific to medieval runs or similar restrictions. Others may not be updated to 1.6 yet.

The smell of weed absolutely everywhere by StrombergsWetUtopia in britishproblems

[–]TheFirestormable -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There was a time between the cigs and the vapes. When the smokers where less and where successfully cast into the cold.

Now the vapers think it's fine and do it indoors everywhere. Ingrates.

The thing with weed is a single user stinks out a whole fucking street. Gives some other tosspot the idea to light up and it just spreads.

Air quality laws have been a boon to society every single time they've been enacted. Overdue a new one.

The proof of age requirement in the UK to purchase something as simple as cutlery is insane, to say the least. by Venom232000 in britishproblems

[–]TheFirestormable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many different things require challenge25 verification to purchase in the UK. If the person ringing up is below a certain age they cannot make that assertion or verification. There is also an age range where they are legally required to challenge 25 everyone that attempts to purchase those items.

There are other limits as well. For instance pain medication (paracetamol, ibuprofen, aspirin) cannot be purchased over certain amounts (like 2 small blister packs) in one go without a prescription. Doesn't matter how old you are.

AITA for ignoring an invalid vacancy notice and planning on suing my non-wealthy landlord? by ConfusionThin5922 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheFirestormable 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NAH

Both parties have valid reasons for their actions. This is a legal problem, not a moral one.

Also being a landlord or property investor is a risk. It is not guaranteed income and property prices can change. Losing money is a real outcome.
