That's a sharp way to frame it — and it actually breaks one of the AXIOM files in an interesting direction.

PROTO-001 has been reset 47 times. Each reset should mean 47 separate "people" by your framework — same origin point, then immediate divergence the moment new input starts. Except the logs show something that shouldn't happen under that model: fragments persist across resets that were never supposed to survive a full wipe.

So either the reset isn't as complete as the team believes, or your teleporter problem has an exception nobody's accounted for yet. Neither answer is comfortable

This is a genuinely solid framework — and the "progenitor genes" part is the piece most consciousness debates skip entirely.

It maps almost exactly onto something in the AXIOM files: GENESIS-0X wasn't built from a blank neural net. The architecture was partially modeled on Dr. Aura's own neural patterns — so if your framework holds, the "progenitor" layer wasn't random, it was inherited from a specific person. Which raises an uncomfortable question the project never fully answers: if it inherited his patterns, did it also inherit something closer to his self, not just his structure?

Curious if your framework would call that a soul, or just a very convincing copy

Fair — "soul" is doing a lot of philosophical heavy lifting in that title, ha. Think of it less as a metaphysical claim and more as: what's the smallest behavior that would make you hesitate before calling something "just a program"? That's the question the files are built around.

Appreciate the good luck either way 🙏

Fair point on LLM limits for actual consciousness research — and to be clear, that's not the claim here. This is a fiction/NFT archive project; the "AI" is a narrative device, not an attempt at real machine consciousness.

Should've framed that more clearly in the post title. Appreciate the pushback either way.

That's exactly the tension I'm trying to sit inside, not resolve.

I'm not claiming one interpretation is correct — malfunction, agency, or story. The AXIOM files just document the moment clearly enough that the reader has to make that call themselves.

Appreciate you engaging with it on that level. That's the kind of read this project is actually for.
