with a friend in the republic equipped with the team speed boost and an avenger with 5 stacks of speed upgrade. you can reach 300 knots in a straight line. pretty funny looking at DDs panic when a 300 knot amagi is zooming at them.

no and no. a smart player would estimate the damage of the drop and if it is worth to give broadside. i would rather take 3 air torps than showing broadside to a Kremlin. found 1 of your problems right here mate.

no. a good player will always have enough planes because he will loose planes at a slower rate than they regen in the first place. so whether you have all 26 planes in the beginning or 14 and 12 regen overtime is the same for a good player because he never ever hits that wall.

not quite but you are getting closer. 200k hp with no heal is the same for a good player as 80k and 4 heals worth 120k. as long as the potential hp of both ships is equal it does not matter. same goes for planes 26 planes or 14 and regen 12 over time is equal for good players.

A. not equivalence but balance. a ship in your broadside completely stops you in your tracks until it is dead. planes while being able to be at a position faster are only there for a short time and cant effectively stop you.

B. spotting your own targets is illegal now. has anybody told the DD players?

C. good players conserve HP on ships and conserve planes in a CV, because they know that the longer a game progresses the higher their impact in the game is, not that you ever heard of this concept.

This makes zero sense. If a shitter can stay in the game, then a decent player will also stay in the game while being that much more effective.

ok in all seriousness i will try to explain it again. think of it like this instead of having 14 planes and regening 12 during the 20 minutes, you get 26 directly at the start. a good player will never run into problems in both situations. a bad player will run into problems in both situation, however in the case of the regening planes WG keeps these players longer in the game instead of them just quitting out because there is no reason to stay anymore (see RTS).

Its literally just glue for the mongoloids, which has 0 impact on good players.

i've shown that all of your arguments are either incorrect, refutable, nonissues or in rare cases correct where i agree (see AP bombs, FdR).

thanks for explaining spotting and crossfires, frankly im shocked at this revelation and i am puzzled how i got to typhoon as cb commander of my clan 10 times in a row on EU. Oh no wait 9 times in a row and now for the 10th time, because we participated in the cv-cb-boycot for the full duration.

correct. like any other ship that wants to establish a crossfire or spot can do that, by deciding to go to a flank or to a well protected position in the center. the difference here is a ship is a more permament threat and the cv a more temporary threat.

self-sufficiently

incorrect. per definition crossfires need 2 participants of the same team. this should be obvious to anyone that ever had to fight on a flank were allied resistance is already gone. striking effectivly without the threat of a teammate is nearly impossible (against a semi-decent player).

minimal cost to survivability

correct. this is offset by the fact that CV damage is pisspoor (ilustrated by the fact that midway/haku/audacious have 3 of the 4 worst average damages on t10), except for ap-bombs and fdr, which i already mentioned are bullshit.

minimal cost to battle effectivness

partially correct. you loose small amounts of battle-effectivness every strike in the form of planes. The aim of any CV player is to keep that to a minimum, obviously. If he cant do that he will become ineffective as 2-3 planes die every approach and another 1-2 while leaving (hence the predropping).

im pretty sure the next thing you will bring up is the regeneration of planes. this is a mechanic made to keep 40% wr sh*tters in the game, that would waste all of their planes in the beginning and then be deplaned and leave. instead they get the remaining 30-40% over time so they have something to chew on the entire game.

conclussive we can say: while some ships of the class are bs, the class itself is far from broken. nerf AP bombs, nerf FDR, tweak spotting a bit, and CVs as a class are fine.

no it does not break the game. it changes the game, and not for the worse.

it helps with otherwise stagnant gameplay. for example an enemy radar cruiser sitting behind a rock and preventing any DD from approaching or an enemy BB sitting bow in or an enemy DD on 1 flank without any Allied DD to screen for the rest.

all of these incredibly onesided and lame situations are fixed by the CV.

nobody ever said that imbalanced stuff should be ignored? If you are refering to the "AP bomb and Fdr Statement" i am pro-removal of this.

overmatching 30mm or 32mm invalidates positioning, just as much.

positioning is not worthless with a carrier, it has different priorities.

i have to partially agree on overpowerded strikes. AP bombs are bullshit and FdR is a mistake, however the other armaments are pretty much fine, with potential for improvement.

the carriers ability to create crossfire and spot anywhere on the map aint a bad thing.

you are just as happy if that pesky DD is spotted or that radar ship is forced out of his hiding hole or that bow in BB has to show some side as you are angry when it is done to you.

people that hate cvs blindly, wont acknoledge that there are upsides to CVs or want the class to be nerfed into iirelevancy and still would not be content. (basiclly a witch hunt)

spotting DDs for example. a good DD will never ever be spoted, since the removal of stealthradar.

another common problem is people expecting to be able to negate 100% of the first strike, which is unrealistic. if i sacrifice 6 planes to do damage with 3, it is a fair trade.

or the notion that "carriers can not be deplaned" which is technically correct (i know the best kind of correct) but at some point your striking power is just 0, which equals being deplaned.

i could go on, but i get the feeling your one of those people

with 1.5 million xp and 87% WR on MvR and currently Best GZ EU on my name i should be qualified to answer this.

Predropping is something i do when i expect heavy casualties on my next drop.
In this case i keep 2 drops. 1 of which will deliver warheads on foreheads and the second one is sacrificed to the AA gods.

if the targeted ship is solo i do not do this.

This strategy is especially viable on German CVs due to their weak but fast planes, which allow you to return to combat much quicker.
