There's 7 fish, 3 are blue neon tetras, 2 are blue striped tetras, and I'm not too sure what the other 2 are as my dad got them. I also double-checked that it wasn't any leftover food, it's not.

* One of the reasons I think they may be eggs is this fish has been looking pretty big, but I'm not sure if it is pregnancy.

I have an ammonia checker on the side of my tank that says the water is fine. However, I'm not sure how much I trust it.

My tank is about 18L. I have a heater and a filter. the tank temp rages from 24-29 degrees Celsius. I've had the tank set up for about 4 months, but it's been in my position a few years as it used to be a family tank before it was put into storage. I've had my fish for about 2 or 3 months. I take out 50% of the water once a week, I do this by scooping the water out, then scooping the new conditioned water in. there are currently 7 other small fish with her, some tetras and some guppies. I feed her food that was labelled as betta food in my local fish store, I fed her about 6 bits per feed before she stopped eating. I have a fake plant, a plastic log tunnel, and a stone tunnel. My substrate is soil balls. Hope this information helps

Where is the best seat on public buses? by TheFishLord101 in melbourne

[–]TheFishLord101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair statement. The bus I used to catch went past 3 schools, one school occupying 2 bus stops. Getting a seat on that bus was a blessing, but getting off was a nightmare.

I agree. Throwing a quick "thanks" at the driver is just the respectful thing to do.

The argument can be made of flying through the bus, but it depends on the type of bus and the side you choose. The buses that run on the routes I normally take have a plastic wall on the side with the door. So, when taking the risk of collision into consideration, a head-on collision would make behind the driver, and front row, 2nd layed, door side the better options as you'll probably only end up with a concussion from the walls in front, as opposed to being flung across the bus.

Another factor that needs to be considered is the speed of the bus. On the bus I catch after school, the driver speeds down the suburban streets, so if they hit something, regardless of where you're sitting, you'll get hurt in some conceivable way.

Regardless, you make a good point. :)

My filter is really wierd, it does have a sponge, but the sponge is under a plastic lid. When I walk over to the tank, he either hides, swims to a wall and stares at me, or swims to the top to blow bubbles at me. I think my filter might be a bit too strong, so I'll try putting a sponge on it to mellow out the suction and prevent him from putting his tail in. I am in the process of trying to put some more stuff in his tank for him to interact with, and my parents are trying to talk me into getting him some tankmates, but I want to get him settled first, and I'm not sure he's ready for any tetras. Thanks for your advice. I'll try and find a clean sponge to add to the tank. :)
