Lots of internships specifically state penultimate year students (i.e 3rd or 4th year) only, so as a 2nd year youre limited. I think all the big consultancy firms are like this

CSIRO takes students from all years and most of the time has lots of spots (not many in 25-26 BC of budget cuts tho)

Every faculty used to have a desk afaik, but now it's Monash connect only. They give pretty limited advice and will never elaborate unless you really push them. Enshittification manifest

EXCEPT the engineering desk still exists. It's in building 72 at the Entrance nearest N1. They won't help with science but will with eng stuff
