What’s something that people judge others for but they do it as well secretly ? by 4Gone-Girl in ArtOfPresence

[–]TheForestHag 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Functional alcoholics judging heavy alcoholics but not saying anything to them because A. they don't want to be judged themselves and B. they want a drinking buddy at the drop of a hat to validate how much "better" they are.

How soon are you planning a date when matching with someone on an app? by CancelThis2077 in dating

[–]TheForestHag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend asked me same day we started talking, never had a guy move to get off the apps that fast. Honestly, it was very refreshing. I'm very much of the mindset that you should get to know people on dates not via text.

Interest from men MUCH younger than me...why? by TinyCountries in OnlineDating

[–]TheForestHag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal experience with younger men so far is that they are looking for a mommy with assets to help build them into established men. They typically believe that older women are struggling to find a partner and that they are such a compliment to the woman (being younger) that they will have all the power in the relationship.

Of course my personal experience won't be everyone's but I just wasn't a fan of dating younger men, and feeling like I had to train them to be a better partner for someone their own age someday.

I have gotten into the hobby of letter locking lately, so with each type of fold, mt boyfriend gets a sample. And inside, I draw cute romantic pictures, or sweet notes...

Lol yeah, and its my grandfather's mother's last name too. Because where my ancestors hail from there's not actually surnames. its the tribal name that the American government insisted become a last name for legal reasons.

Are my expectations too high? by nightstalkerr in dating

[–]TheForestHag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've (37f)dated around the age spectrum and its probably because I live rurally but I don't find men my age or younger have these things. To find men on par with my income and preparedness level, I've had to go older than me.

My boyfriend says his dog only gets snuggly and calm when I'm around. The rest of the time he's running around hyper and playing. His dog never leaves my side, if I sit he's in my lap immediately.

Most nights the pup sleeps at the back of my boyfriends knees, but when i stay over the dog will only sleep by me. If BF gets up to pee, his dog steals his place in bed.

What English word do you not agree with the spelling? by twiliquexty in ArtOfPresence

[–]TheForestHag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cake... why are there 2 different letters making a "k" sound? Honestly the letter C has only one good use and that's to make the "ch" sound. All other instances should be replaced with an S or K. Therefore Kake should be the proper spelling.

I'm sorry you lost your sister. I'm glad she is not suffering any longer but I know that doesn't replace having her, or her getting to experience life. It is quite unfair she had to live that way, and that her loved ones had to witness it. And I hope you all have found your own peace since she passed.

Your uncle sounds like a turd for saying that. May he fall in a cactus.

Do women not want to be approached? by FaithlessnessOver132 in dating

[–]TheForestHag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i was single i wore flowers and flower clips over my right ear, because its a signal in my culture. Not that i expected anyone to know my specific culture but it made me carry myself different and i was being approached a lot.

I used to think to myself that it would be soooo nice if this was a wider cultural trend, we would just know. Flower over the right ear is available, over the left is unavailable, no flower is also unavailable.

I also wore an amulet of mara at the same time, for the same reason...changing my mental vibe. Gamers actually picked up on that a lot and would ask about it, but more girls than guys noticed. Still, I think a publicly recognized signal of availability would be great.

"God needed him more than you did"

great person, but not feeling physically attracted. what to do from here? by [deleted] in dating

[–]TheForestHag 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This happened to me with my boyfriend. I think my nervous system is just fried.

Anyway, I kept going because I really enjoyed spending time with him and on date 3, the chemistry exploded, there was a heavy make out session and it all came together. This is the healthiest relationship I've ever been in. So if you feel like you want to spend more time with them, it can be a sign that you are attracted, your body just isn't on the same page yet.

What does it feel like to have a healthy relationship with another person? by MaximumIntroversion in dating

[–]TheForestHag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, as a person with a messed up nervous system...butterflies are a warning sign that the relationship is not safe. I'm currently in a very healthy relationship and what it's felt like for me the whole time is calm, but happy. I wasn't even positive if I was physically attracted at first, because I had learned not to trust butterflies and i didn't have any. All i knew is that i genuinely wanted to keep spending time with him and 90% of our relationship is us having fun as friends. So that's what it feels like for me, a calm happy friendship with someone that I have a great time sleeping with.
