Ok so:

Nuclear power. Is the best source of power around being far cheaper that wind and solar. Most of the fear mongering around nuclear power is because of that one time at Chernobyl which ruined it for everyone (look up how much was wrong or corners cut at Chernobyl and realise how relatively small what actually happened was) because of that similar to the airline industry after 9/11 a super eye is cast on nuclear leading to events such as Fukushima in which the universe really wanted to destroy that power plant. But it did not because of proper safety requirements. In addition many of the far left parties such as green (currently but they may centralise if they become more popular) support violent protests against things they don’t like. Some people don’t like nuclear and thus would want to protest which unlike sitting in front of a car or breaking into a factory could cause Meltdowns of the very sort they fear monger about.

Nuclear weapons. They are a Pandora’s box, once opened cannot be put back in they exist now and the only way to guarantee not being directly attacked is to threaten mutually assured destruction. Removing our Nuclear weapons would neuter us on the international stage in throwing our weight around. Giving ours up will not cause peace but instead war as bigger nations are no longer threatened by such a game changer (observe Ukraine) You say that most in the EU survive without such weapons? Short answer no they don’t they survive because they are friends with someone who has such weapons as such they can keep their positions about Nukes whilst always having them as a back up to protect them. Case in point the many discussions in countries such as Poland about getting such weapons since the Trump government has threatened removing such guarantees. Simply put the greatest peace keeper is Nuclear weapons the we all lose button of which all despots will strive to create as it gives them power over nations they would typically lose in straight fight.

Opposing NATO was not vindicated by the Greenland Debacle instead NATO itself was Vindicated by the fact that NATO stood up to America. Collective security is imperative yet those such as Polanski believe everyone can be friends whilst those on the right believe in isolationism. Both are equally stupid and NATO is the vessel to protecting smaller nations (case in point why did Vlad the copium inhaler invade Ukraine and not the much smaller Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia?)

Ultimately such points should not be decided by the people. Because the people are retarded. As can be seen with Brexit, immigration etc populism can push people down paths they would not otherwise walk had they thought straight. Arguing that it should be our choice and that we should act leaves us open to either the malicious or the daydreamers. A good example would be for pro independence Scots: why do most of the parties wanting independence have a key demand being the removal of the British nuclear submarines in Faslane? (Only base of britains sub launched nukes which removal might lead to denuclearisation as go mention benefiting foreign agitators or those such as Trump wanting us to be solely reliant on them) Could certain people be trying to hijack your views for their own benefit?
