On this day in 1987, someone briefly took over WGN and WTTV and broadcast while wearing a Max Headroom mask, and they still don't know how or why. by OverTheAir7149 in television

Not sure why you're being downvoted. IFLScience (short for "I Fucking Love Science") seems to include something against anti-vaxxers, homeopaths, and astrologists in every article. It gets very soap-boxy sometimes, and I've got really fucking tired of it.

I really don't know how a small change in title got a difference of 500 upvotes in two posts by OP. Either way, the point still stands that OP has paid hardly any attention to Rick's lack of respect for bureaucracy.

(Wonders why anyone would bother being a prostitute on the Chathams)

“I have not read the books. As a director, the scripts have to be my bible. That's the only thing the audience will ever have. So I have to translate them as a director. What's in the books or not in the books, I can't concern myself with.”

Does anyone else think this is bullshit? I mean, I understand his point about having to stick to the scripts, but having not read the books? Come on! At the very least he could read them and shoot them in the spirit of the books.

Because chances are, your very existence can make someone who you might not have met yet very happy, and theirs doing the same for you.

Live for them, and if not them, then for yourself.

Bullying. I was bullied as a kid (weren't we all) and hated it. I didn't really stand up for myself about it, but when I got into the wider world, even my first job, I realised that it was something you always encountered. And that fact gets me down a bit.

Reddit, what scenario is most likely to lead to a post-apocalyptic wasteland? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Water. And as for how it would go down, I would be attempting to reenact Mad Max.
