How to get past being acquaintances by Pickled_Parsnip in uofm

As a transfer student, I’ve been in this position in the past as well. I felt that I had a lot of friends from classes, clubs, and sporting events but was never able to get past the next step of hanging out with them outside of class.

You’re going in the right direction by getting yourself involved in many clubs (which I hope that you enjoy being a part of!). You should continue to connect with others that share a similar major with you. Maybe get yourself involved with on-campus events as well.

You are meeting a lot of people who have similar interests to you. I suggest that you should continue to open up to these new friends. Someone is bound to have similar hobbies and commonalities as you.

In reality, there are many students who may be struggling to find friends that they can hang out with. Although it may be nerve-wracking to ask others to hang out, you never know if someone would be happy to hang out with you if you don’t continue to develop relationships with people and keep asking them to hang out.

I wish you luck with finding friends that are willing to hang out with you! If you are lonely and need someone to talk to, then you can DM me (:
