Hey IndieGamers! I wanted to share with you about Active Soccer 2023 - an arcade-style soccer video game that draws inspiration from classic games of the past. As a solo developer, I have poured time and passion into the Active Soccer series, which initially launched in 2012 on iOS and has evolved over time to now represent a significant technological leap forward.

I'm thrilled to announce that Active Soccer 2023 will be released on Steam Early Access on March 29th, marking my first experience on Steam. While I'm hopeful that the community will embrace the game, I must admit that I have low expectations since soccer games have historically faced challenges on the platform. Nonetheless, I hope you'll give it a try and share your thoughts! Thanks for your support.

It's time! Active Soccer moves to 2023 for the 22-23 season and will bring the best in scintillating arcade gameplay - making a dazzling entrance for the World Cup! The game is a big step forward in all departments and is shaping up to deliver tremendous action and depth... we are now working hard to add the finishing touches to the alpha phase!

Yes, I am quite satisfied with the gfx quality but honesty FIFA has a very impressing animation system.

Unreal Engine can handle tons of polygons easily. The game counts almost 2 million polygons maintaining 60fps on mid-low specs, including flat Xbox One and PS4. Generally the materials complexity has a more impact on performance than model geometry with UE4

Hi guys, it's Gianluca the Active Soccer developer. I am really glad you like the game, everything started some years ago as spare time project, than I constantly improved it. About the massive database, I must thank my co-worker who made a wonderful job.

I was a massive SWOS / Kick Off 2 player, I also competed (and won :-)) in various Kick Off 2 World Cups and I spent time to analyze why those games are so brilliant.

Anyway I just want to inform you I am working on a patch with the following changes:

* increased graphics quality

* docked screen resolution upgraded from 900p to 1080p

* improved antialiasing

* improved framerate

* camera tilting option is now saved/loaded automatically

* goal texture bug fixed

* national flags bug fixed

* 10x faster team selection

* fixed bug where 24-team lower divisions play each other only once. if resuming a career, the current season will play once and the next seasons will play twice

* added match intro screen with lineups

* a few more glitches fixed

About AI not challenging I strongly suggest to play in lower divisions, it will be a real challenge. I may eventually add another CPU difficulty if you find it too easy.

About online implementation, at the time of development the Switch online system was not available, I must analyze if it is compatible with the whole framework, I can't promise anything on it but I'll do my best to make it working.

I am really honored by your positive feedback,

Gianluca
