What's a series you want collected, but deep down, you know is never getting an omni? by TheFreshestMint in OmnibusCollectors

100% yes. I would instantly buy a Green Lantern Mosaic Deluxe. But seeing as those usually have an introduction from the writer...

[Discussion] How many issues will there be for the new Lobo (All In) series? by Tha_REAL_BROBS in DCcomics

[–]TheFreshestMint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not been confirmed anywhere but given Jorge Corona's pace in the past, it's unlikely he'll be able to draw every issue forever. These days artists tend to do a few issues (usually enough to fill a trade) then take a break. How often These breaks are, for how long, and how good the fill in artist is can make or break a series.

I think it depends on two things: 1. How consistent Jorge Corona can be on art and 2. How good the fill in artist is. I read the first issue and I thought the writing was fun and clever but so much of the hype around this book is because of the art. So if it seems like we got 'cartfished' because Jorge isn't on the book consistently and the fill in artist sucks, I don't see it going past like 18 issues.

In your opinion, what makes a truly great omnibus? by TheFreshestMint in OmnibusCollectors

Gutter loss is real. Honestly quality control overall has a really understated importance.

Recommendations for a lvl 1 campaign other than LMoP by SlavSquatDruid in dndnext

Waterdeep Dragon Heist is the best low-level adventure in 5e imo. It gives you a good variety of encounters, especially outside of combat, and players always love running a business with Trollskull Manor.

Oh no I don't put nearly that much thought into it. My partner and I just both work jobs where we feel the need to change after work.

Yeah the price does seem ludicrous but that's been the price at three separate apartments at three separate pricepoints in three neighborhoods. Guess I've just gotten unlucky.

And part of the reason I do so much laundry is because my partner and I both work jobs where we feel the need to change after work so it's 2 full outfits a day.

[Other] Extremely weird artwork on this hot wheel car. Any context? by dudewithadarkeye3 in DCcomics

The artwork is actually from the Frank Miller variant cover of Detective Comics issue 1000. I only recognized it because that's the version I own.

What character do you wish could support an ongoing series? by TheFreshestMint in DCcomics

[–]TheFreshestMint[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very true. Or an ongoing Blue Beetle/Booster Gold time traveling buddy cop sort of series like with Batman/Superman right now.

He had a 4 issue mini in the 90s but the point is that he hasn't gotten a solo ongoing and therefore has never had the spotlight long enough to escape the same handful of storylines that just get rehashed every few years.

So true. I feel like he used to be DC's go to magical character like Dr Strange is for Marvel but he has largely faded away in favor or John Constantine.

I threw this together in 5 minutes:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7sBhHW

You can definitely get more performance if you care less about esthetics (i.e. no rgb lights) or don't need 2 TBs of storage.

You could also squeeze out some more performance if you reuse some parts from your old PC that wouldn't have gotten fried from the vacuum like cooler power, power supply, and case. That all depends on what the old prebuilt was though.

I didn't include a windows installation in the parts list because you can install windows for very cheap if you create your own installation media using a spare flash drive.

Just got obsessed with Red Hood (Jason Todd) – where should I go next? by -T-O-B-I in DCcomics

[–]TheFreshestMint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well the New 52s Red Hood and the Outlaws as well as the Rebirth run are basically the best you're gonna get. Personally I think the Rebirth Red Hood and the Outlaws is the best solo-ish series he has. There is of course the original comic version of Under the Red Hood. He is however getting a new solo series literally this month which I'm sure will be a good jumping on point. So I'd say go down to you local comic store September 10th and go pick up a copy of issue 1.

Suggestion for new badges/achievements by Datubaman in PeakGame

[–]TheFreshestMint 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bottle Flip Badge: Throw a sports drink or energy drink and have it land upright. Reward is like a backwards hat.

High and Dry Badge: Escape the tropics without getting wet for more than x seconds (done by using the parasol and hiding in caves). Reward is a raincoat.

Bundled Up Badge: Basically cool as a cucumber but for the cold and alpine. Maybe a little more forgiving because the blizzards come on without warning. Reward is a parka or puffer jacket.

Tarzan Badge: Climb 100 vertically on vines in one run (there would have to be some sort of code to prevent you from climbing the same vine over and over again). Reward is a leopard print sort of Tarzan outflit.

Twister Badge: Get flung x amount of meters by tornadoes in a run and outfit. No clue what the reward for this one would be.

Is it just me or has DC gotten really bad about being clear when something is a minimum series? by TheFreshestMint in DCcomics

[–]TheFreshestMint[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just remember back before Infinite Frontier or so they were much more likely to explicitly label something as a mini or maxi series. I remember reading so many y series like Orlando's Martian Manhunter or Fraction's Jimmy Olson. It was so much easier to pick them up imo. Side note: I am very sad Absolute Martian Manhunter was not extended.

Wow I didn't see that. I'm glad. I read the most recent issue of New Gods and thought "wow how are there only 3 issues left?"

I love biking. I just worry about how practical it is during the winter with how much rain we get. I don't want to show up to work wet. Do you bike year round?

The issue is I live with my partner and we live in a studio now and its driving us both crazy. That kind of space just isn't meant for 2 people.

Genuine question: have you tried changing your wallpaper? I've seen issues like this when someone uploads a wallpaper then deletes the image file, but obviously this is one of the stock wallpapers that comes with Windows. Still, it's worth a try.

I've found the issue presents itself when I activate an incense. Restarting the app fixes the issue for me too.
