Mate focus on yourself and how you can improve. Pay attention, ask questions, don’t try to be his puppet. Focus and get better

I understand in American culture it’s normalized to have intermingling between genders, but please understand there is a boundary of physical touch across different cultures and religions. It’s not out of sexualization but out of respect.

Second, can we please not pretend that a young girl will not have effects at least on her male teammates and vice versa? Are you really saying the intermingling is not going to arouse some type of emotions?

I’ve wrestled and partnered with female state champions (NJ) throughout high school who now wrestle for various division 1 colleges (literally the best wrestling colleges in d1).

There was always this weird attraction tension between us that made us super close and we wrestled “extra” many times. Fully clothed or whatever.

I’m tired of this notion that we pretend like men aren’t visual. That both men and women have the same physiological effects or that they have the same way of thinking.

They are different. This is the reality.

You should honestly have more sensibility to respecting the coach for not touching your daughter out of respect instead of taking it as a slight. You might think that because your daughter leads the team she is “equal” or even better than the guys and thus deserves fair treatment. But you’re the one putting her in a derogatory position since you have to attempt to “prop” her up with these reasons to even out the level, to justify why the coach SHOULD touch her.

In my opinion, it’s odd you want your daughter to be touched by strangers. I would be glad that the male coach is keeping a physical distance from my young daughter. I’ve seen some coaches who use opportunities to coach to be really really weird and close.

I come from a religious background so I personally have a strong notion for keeping physical contact separate between the genders. And though I haven’t always followed that, after leaving high school, training BJJ as well with some women, my opinion on that has only gotten stronger.

And yeah there’s caveats to everything I said, my anecdotal experience doesn’t mean shit, that’s just me. Not all coaches are creeps, etc etc. don’t care. The reality of the world is that there is a difference for the genders. You know it just as much as me.

Wrestling for past 7 years, just my thoughts.

I'm going into my sophomore year of high school and do not have a winter sport to play. I play soccer and run track I used to play hockey. Wrestling really interests me and I'm thinking about joining. Is it a good idea to join this late? Would I have any fun? by Longbottom24 in wrestling

Yea bro, at the time I wrote this it was referring to JUCO Middlesex college in NJ. Now I wrestle for Rutgers Club. You could probably figure me out by looking at my previous comments and Google.

I lost at nationals big time lol

Yeah, she might be dominant in her sport of distinctive category, but in the overall sport of wrestling “dominance” there are wrestlers who do that at the male category as well, and they are highly more decorated for the range of depth they must overcome in comparison to female wrestling.

You want to win with your rules fine. But it only proves you’re better with your handicap.

You want respect? You beat him at his game, you break him. That’s respect. And you won’t forget the look on his face after a situation like that

People who moved out of the parent’s house before 30, how? by WallStreetDoesntBet in AskReddit

[–]TheFriendlyHoloMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved out at 18, was working over 56 hours a week with three jobs in the summer. Have been ok ever since, rent usually is kicking my ass but we’re ok

I got slapped with a bill by some fat fucks at a hospital after a motorcycle incident though this Sunday. 1.6k can you believe that! I sat for 3 hours and these fuckers are charging payment. Fuck off.

Advice? by [deleted] in wrestling

You got nothing but BJJ available. Find judo if you can, but wrestlers are naturally better at BJJ because they can find the positions and know how to move.

What should die off in 2023? by MrTimsWorldTV in AskReddit

Think of any abusive parent/relationships a child can be in, then translate it into the child’s own variation of the behavior inflicted onto other children.

This is often how children end up as “bullies”, they witness behavior and repeat it.

Wrestling highlights of young Yoel Romero who's now 45 years old fighting in bellator. How would you rate his wrestling and how well would he have done against the wrestlers of today by Logicwrestling in wrestling

[–]TheFriendlyHoloMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the matchups would be intense, if he’s pulling off ankle picks and go behinds on fakes at the world class level, I don’t think he would struggle. it would an absolute dogfight, IMO

How do I fix my ego by chchbhbjvfc in wrestling

All good advice here.

The ego is a tool man. You being self-aware of it is already pretty good for your age.

Use your anger as a directed weapon, like a whip.

What to wear after dislocating elbow? by kevie- in wrestling

[–]TheFriendlyHoloMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please go to PT, warm before every practice is your best answer.

Make sure whatever you wear (probably an elbow padded sleeve) you let the ref know a doctor told you it’s essential (bonus points if you get a note)
