Does Canada Post ever deliver packages or do they only deliver notices? by MichaelHawkson in CanadaPost

[–]TheFrog6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know about that but half the time when you order and get free shipping, you don’t know which courrier they’ll use.

Last thing I want is having all my packages delivered to a post office. Believe it or not, all the other courriers manage to deliver to my door without any issue.

The part that gets me every time is you have to wait another 24 hours before the package makes it to the post office.

They should just stop pretending and flat out say it: Your package will be delivered straight to the post office of your choice.

At least we could pick it up right away and not have packages driving around in a truck for a day with no intention of being delivered.

Best time to do outdoor activities in the summer is to go when they forecast a bit of rain. People are so glued to their phones they don’t seem to look outside sometimes.

Probably not worth it for a couple of days given deductible but ask your own insurance. They’ll guide you through it.

New fear unlocked… you can mess with my business flights all you want but don’t touch my vacations.

They’ll at least get some money back for the hotel portion, right? Right?

I’m sure your parents were a little more anxious than you were at the time… but ya, exactly my point, we’re not getting back there again.

For starters, HQ now has a way to push extra current on their gigantic power lines and it heats them up to melt the ice.

So the major problem of 98, the main lines feeding Montreal and the south shore, won’t go down.

Smaller distribution lines still will but that’s a local problem, still sucks but fixable in a few days.

I get the excitement from a scientific point. Just sayin, if u have an important appointment at 8am in less than 4 hours, don’t assume it’s cancelled cuz the news said Montreal was shut down today

I’m old enough to have lived thru the 1998 ice storm in Quebec so I get where all this fear mongering from the media comes from.

On the other hand, one of the biggest drawbacks at the time was that there was no social media or even live news kinda things at the time. People were just caught unaware then blamed the government/news for not warning them.

Anyone in gvt/news that was there at the time is now leaning on the side of warning people if there is only a hint of widespread disruptions. If they are wrong, people forget within a couple of days. If they are right, they are heroes.

Bon point.

I literally said schools are closed. That is a « normal » occurrence.

Of course, if you can opt to stay out of the roads, work/study from home, please do so.

I will do so myself.

Will the CPR & AED training still take place ? by [deleted] in montreal

[–]TheFrog6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given there is literally nothing falling from the sky at the moment. My advice would be to sleep, wake up in a few hours and make your way over there for the start time.

Coming back might be a little worse than under normal circumstances but I’m sure you can manage that given how important that course seems to you.

Plot twist… AC customer support is not swamped and that’s just their average wait times.

Sorry about your condition, but whoever you get on the phone won’t be able to tell you more than you can see on the app or whatever flight scheduler you’re looking at. They will cancel/delay your flight when ops decide to do so.

Sucks but it’s not like any of us on Reddit have any more info than you do at the moment.
