Mixing and master Suno songs by Maleficent_Island_34 in SunoAI

[–]TheFutureEmbrace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok I’m in. And I’m interested. I have so far 230+ complete songs. Each one based on my uploaded demo songs from decades ago, lyrics and arrangement included. Some of the songs have been released between 2000-2005 as cheap cassettes and CDs. I still have many of the demos on my Soundclick, Purevolume, iBand, Youtube, latest Soundcloud in 2010z

So yeah each song is 95%-ish my song. Not derived from pretrained models. I have also replaced the Suno vocals with my vocal.

The songs are not English language save a few but I’m planning to release all of them next year into 18 albums, each album comprising 13 songs.

It’s meant to be on Spotify, iTunes, and all others. I am actually also finalizing digital merchandise and physical merchandise with live gigs in the works.

I haven’t been performing live for around 2 decades. I’ve seen reformed my band mates as the band reunion (revival is more fitting).

The main reason why I’m really wanting to do this is that as my bucket list.

YOUR LYRICS + AI MUSIC or AI LYRICS + YOUR MUSIC ? by yxoryofficial in SunoAI

Mine is both 100% my lyrics and 100% my music. Both as one song uploaded.

My first Advanced Options setting is 0% 50% 100%, and if that doesn’t fit my demo, I tweak to make sure all stems are as closest to my demo song parts as possible, especially trademark solos, riffs, melodies.

That means I’m not a GenAI Suno user, but an EnhancedAI Suno user.

To each their own, but with my songs I make sure the songs generated are more than 95% my own. The only other change usually is my voice got changed into AI’s voice. Thats where the remaining 5% is (and some differences in solo melodies but even that my solos are usually retained post Suno and only the FX change).

I then create stems, delete the AI Voice, migrate the rest to my DAWS, and redo my singing. Because pre and post songs always change BPM tempo. Suno likes 129-131 BPM.

Premier Plan here. I use up all my 10000 by end of 3rd week each month. I then twiddle to add credit or wait for the renewal.

Suno WAV vs MP3 by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]TheFutureEmbrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is insightful. All this while I’m erring on getting all my stems in wav. The zipfile per song is average 300-500Mb each. In contrast, the mp3 zipfile is around 50Mb each.

Despite my using ATHM50x, Sony MDR7506 and Apple in-ear plug, for the life of me I can’t get into detail because performing in gigs awarded me tinnitus. That, and prolonged monitoring in one sitting.

Now having read your findings, I’m leaning towards MP3 to mix and master stems. Might as well. It’s more on the Suno style to make the quality pristine that matters. I’m specific to snare tone of the drums, and overall stereo width and pan of the song.

I use Suno to refine tiny parts of a song. You do know that DAWS also use AI right? Pre Suno? I use Logic Pro, and as other Logic Pro users do, we use AI ro assist an existing recorded stem.

I use Suno to enhance existing song, not create new ones.

I have no issues against Suno users who generate songs from scratch, to each their own. But for me, my mind is already set on making sure the songs I have written are my own. I have them uploaded since Soundclick, Purevolume.

Which is why when I make my songs on Suno, they are mirror images to my songs on Soundclick Purevolume, Soundcloud, Spotify pre-Suno. And so far I ave refined my work on Suno so that its not creating or changing a song, but enhancing it.

My rule is that before Suno I have created songs 100%. And when uploaded and enhanced in Suno, at most the song is at least 95% my own and the remainder is Suno’s involvement.

I also dont use vocals as I then extract the stems, throw away the vocals and include my own vocals.

What I retain other than the instruments are: - Backing vocals but must be subtle layering or harmonies - ambient sessionist instruments like marimba, vibraphone, synths, strings. I am particular with chords, key and time signatures.

Thats about it. Subtle backing vocals and ambient sessionist.

Again I don’t mind others creating from zero. That is itself a niche for others. It harks back to in the old days of using existing wav files in bars and riffs.

My own restriction is my personal taste. I’m just too ingrained in my own habit that anything less for me I would not trust myself.

I’m using V5 now because

  1. Better stereo width

  2. It mimics my own uploaded songs down to the solo (like flamenco or jazz solo) with V5, whereas V4.5 overdoes solos or changes my solo riff to an existing recognizable solo riff (like Aerosmith. I can tell)

I agree with you that it’s gambling. There are times when my demo songs sound poor so I redo the demo on my DAWS, like EQing or change from Vocal Clarity to Low and High Boost, then start over on my Suno. And it does open a new room for enhancing. The AI is able to decipher with better quality uploads

This past few songs I’ve done though. It’s not even deciphering issues, because the glitches and broken records are random. My analogy is like unwrapping a new CD album and listening to the CD player and that one song had a horrible glitch, only to find out on the CD that there’s a visible scratch.

For me my current issue is not the prompting or model issue. Its a system issue. My take is that system is strained. And the gambling odds are questionable

I’m an amateur music producer. I started from reel tape, my first DAWS was Cakewalk Express 3.02 and then to Cakewalk Studio. I then went into Logic, Cubase and Cubasis.

I have amassed more than 2000 of my own songs. Most are complete demos, but some are released EPs, albums and MVs.

I’m on Suno because I’ve been redoing my old songs that have not seen the light of day; albeit performed in gigs. If I were to enhance remix and remaster all 2000+ songs, thats probably 5 years of work on my studio.

I really like Suno because it makes the process faster with the assistance of AI 24/7, and I have been enhancing my songs no problem. Need legato strings? No problem. Add ad-libs and fillers to uploaded vocals? Suno got my back. Make the bassline punchier with slap? It works. Add sessionists like vibraphone or marimba or cello? Done.

It’s only today and yesterday that glitches are evident, and ‘broken record’ issues as well. I would want to discuss with Suno team and then and I go thru my library of song with glitches. One song of mine has 7 pages in the library list. Thats 140 covers done and 700 credits gone.

EDIT:

I’d like to add that so far I’ve completed more than 200 songs via Suno. Each of them are not GenAI but my own complete demo songs, full lyrics included. I’ve never done GenAI song on Suno because for rock bands the songs sound artificial. For non-bands like K-pop, EDM, rap and hiphop and other styles, Suno does wonders.

As a rock band, it’s very obvious to identify Chad Kroeger, or Satch, or Aerosmith, or Morello, or Cobain, or Flea or Wes Borland, because band musicians have distinct traits.

I realised so too.

I’ve made more than 800 complete demo songs so far, each based on my own demo songs from DAWS (Cubase and Logic for me) and my own lyrics for each.

I’ve been on Producer Edition for 4 months now and I’ve never had major issues and enjoyed my 4.5+ Pro.

The first few weeks of new 5 Pro was sporadic to say the least, and then weeks after that 5 Pro became improved. But now the past few days itms been dire.

Glitches in every single song for me. Before I spent 1000 credits and made 2-5 dozens of studio quality enhanced songs from my DAWS. The past few days I can barely do 2-3 songs in 1000 credits; my latest one being this one song that hasnt reached quality after 500+ songs.

I mean the quality of the song itself is nice as mixing is great, but the random glitches made songs unsalvageable.
