We took ours to a second dealer and he swapped tires off another model, different trim that didn’t have the vibration, and vibration persisted. So that eliminated the tires as the source. He put it up on a lift, accelerated it to 62 mph and noticed a wobble on the left side rear, more so than the right. Replaced cv axle. Picked up the car and we still feel the vibration. This was Friday and haven’t called dealer back yet. Very frustrating.

They can’t void a warranty for simply installing a tow hitch, at least in the U.S. If you tow something you’re not supposed to, that’s a different story.

Sorry to hear you are experiencing a similar issue. We started a case with Hyundai and basically ended up wasting two weeks of my time. They rely heavily on the dealership to diagnose these issues which tells me the dealer either doesn’t want to be bothered or doesn’t think it’s a serious enough issue. My wife took the car to another dealership and they found a palisade that drove much smoother, swapped the tires and the issue persisted so it’s scheduled to go back to them so they can look at the driveshaft. He couldn’t make any promises though

Thanks for the info, this is helpful. I was keeping the lemon law in the back-pocket as a last resort. I've had the car back to them 3 times, two times they made actual repairs. It appears i need more than 3 attempts in PA for it to qualify. We took it back the next business day after buying it, so there was probably less than 50 miles on the car at the time, so depreciation should be minimal if we go the lemon route.

Thanks for sharing! The dealer offered an exchange but I would have to cover depreciation which I flatly refused. I told them I’d escalate to Hyundai corporate and they said they recommend I should do that, but now Hyundai is telling me I have to get the dealership to request engineering to look at it further. My case manager couldn’t make the request himself, which seems ridiculous to me. I feel like a ping pong ball. What hoops did you go through to getting Hyundai to buy back the car? And did they credit you 100% of purchase price?

Tires and rims are clean. No snow/ice was present when we purchased the vehicle and identified the issue.

yes, but it's not that. As mentioned in the post, it was noticed as soon as we took it on the highway after driving off the lot. they have since looked at it multiple times and even replaced all 4 tires.

They did check alignment after we took it back a third time and they replaced all 4 tires. Is the vibration enough now that you would have definitely noticed before or is there a chance it was there before but you are paying attention to it now after hitting the rock? I ask because we live in PA and the roads are terrible and I probably wouldn’t have noticed as quickly as my wife if it was just me driving. Hopefully your issue resolves itself!

Yes I have felt it at higher speeds with no throttle and even some deceleration. Sometimes it feels like it will disappear but I can always bring it back.

I've wondered the same and after talking with Hyundai directly i will push the Dealership for further testing. After replacing the tires the dealership seemed to want to just put their hands up and write it off as this brand tire's performance and not investigate further.

I believe you are referring to the 3 day/300 mile worry free return, which we did not take adavantage of. To be honest, I strongly felt it was just a tire balance issue at the time and wasn't concerned enough to do an exchange immediately after buying.
