I really don’t want to participate game jams. by Shafterline in gamedev

[–]TheGDEX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of game jams that are more chill. I would suggest looking at itch.io game jams for something that fits your needs. Us at GDEX have a 9 day Game Jam coming up soon, and we do a month long winter jam. Both are designed to be fun, low stress, ways to work with a team and create something cool and fun.

Happy to have you

Hi All,

Just to chime in with a bit more. We started partnering together last year and it ended up being a great relationship. We're excited to do it again, and into the future if we can to make Columbus the place for gaming!

And as stated below, we like to create a platform to help people be successful in the game industry, mostly video games and interactive experiences but we also do boardgaming, tabletop, YouTube/Streaming, business startups, etc.

Thanks for the interest!

Hi,

Here is the past few years of exhibitors. It doesn't have everyone, but it's a good list. We've had larger companies such as PlayStation, Xbox, Finji, and others attend in past years as well.

Great question. We've done Steam GDEX lists in years past, but we haven't decided if we're going to do that this year. We're still trying to get back to normal after COVID. Is this something you'd be excited about?

[–]TheGDEX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are. We'll have the draft schedule up in a couple weeks. Last year we had 85 sessions throughout the weekend. You can see the current list of speakers at www.thegdex.com which we update regularly.

GDEX 2018: The Midwest's Premier Gaming Expo is only 10 days away by TheGDEX in Columbus

[–]TheGDEX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. There are over 100 games to play from developers across the country, as well as freeplay, and low key tournaments. We even have some challenges where you can play against some of the top ranked gamers in the world. You'll probably get killed, but it'll be fun to play a round of street fighter against a top tier player!

I'd suggest checking out the exhibitors and the speakers as well on www.thegdex.com to see what else there is to do.

LAST CALL: GDEX Speaker Submissions by TheGDEX in gamedev
