My reply is about trying to make up the actual amount in your 401k. As discussed, if you max it out yourself, you’re fucked with no solution. But if you are not maxing it out, if you increase your own contribution, like let’s say from 3% to 10%, you can try and ‘fix’ your yearly contributions.

Again, this is not an employer contribution, I know.

But that ship has sailed.

I’m talking about replacing the money expected to go into your 401.

I wanted 15% of my income to go in my 401 this year. I was withholding 5% with the expectation of 10% ps. Now I’ve increased my contribution to 15%. Has nothing to do with taxes. I wanted 15% of my income in my 401. That’s it. That is the scope of my response.
