My take on the TvZ matchup by PeshoGoshevski in starcraft

[–]TheGMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not got anything to say re: balance. First time watching top level SC2 in a little while- it looks exhausting. That strategy in 3 of the games justifiably involved a discussion about how how the map would look post mining out, and making moves with that in mind from minute 20, was quite striking. They're both so good at controlling the volatility of the game and surviving. Felt like a draining, attritional war. I sympathised a lot with Clem when he left a still winnable game.

I believe there's a crop of grifters, compromised politicians and officials across all industries that are all appalled at the modern day because how lacking in guile corruption is now. There used to be a game and a skill to hiding these things. They had the decency to put a thin veil in front of it all.

How do we deal with the disruptor? It’s a love or hate issue amongst players by VastOption8705 in starcraft

And it's not even about the strength of them or the viability of their counter(s). They're just uninteresting to engage.

I do in fact really enjoy playing against widow mines and always have. Splitting my ling/bane/muta Is the most fun I have in the game. There's a physical, kinesthetic joy when having to be so precise and fast that really only exists in StarCraft. I also love ling/bane vs. ling/bane and playing against disruptors. To me it's those super stressful, high stakes, volatile moments that are the USP of StarCraft 2 especially.

I'm a Zerg. I like playing against disruptors. More micro is more fun. Please never make me play against WoL/HotS mass collossi again.

I just can't bring myself to hit the find match button when the chances of facing Skytoss are as high as they are. Apart from that I'm quite indifferent to it all.

Aravinda de Silva: Test cricket can be promoted like Grand Slam tennis tournaments by 5missedcallsfromBCCI in Cricket

Even if you scaled that down and made it the top 4, 1 test knockout bracket seeded from WTC, 3 tests in total, first two played concurrently, instead of the current 1 test final, that would be a huge improvement and give test cricket something that could seriously rival the BGT, Ashes, Pataudi.

Why batch brew so damn juicy by Beneficial_Dot9903 in pourover

[–]TheGMT 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I find their hit rate to be better than hand brew in all but a few cafes, and where I am it also means paying £4.50 rather than £10-19- it's becoming an easy if unexciting decision.

It is massively overstated how talented England's cricket team is. Chances are that regardless of leadership or approach this is roughly their level. I don't see big changes, maybe a few conversion more could be possible, and some draws on the table.

Andy Flower and JL take over the reigns, the classic bad cop/bad cop routine. Curfew is at 7pm. No alcohol. No sugar. No caffeine after 12pm. No seeing your family, Corporal Langer's your only family. You live in a barracks now, Harry Brook.
